Seeing as this is the first case, as mentioned in the article, yes. 100% of penile mutilations while under the effects of psilocybin are done by men in Austria.

I don’t think this is fear mongering. In fact, I’d say it’s the opposite. It discusses the benefits, and that studies show that events like this are extremely unlikely to happen. Someone will use it to fear monger, but this is not doing so.
I don’t see any way you could argue a video game isn’t computer software. It literally just is.
Yep. Just look at Bioware. BG3 would have been theirs if they didn’t go the action game route. In the past they made BG and SWTOR, but then they made DA: Origins (not an action game, but moving that direction) and then Mass Effect. At that point they never went back from that direction. They’ve been successful most of the time, but I feel it can only last so long, because it isn’t really made for anyone anymore. I think we can see that now.
Simplicity to access the content is important, but I’d argue just as important is they’ve tried to make the games simple and appealing to everyone, and they end up not really appealing to anyone. Make an interesting game for the people that want it. Don’t make a game no one wants.
For me, I’m more concerned about getting bacteria into the highly nutritious PB. If you’re only eating one spoonful then fine. I wouldn’t stick a spoon that’s been in my mouth back into the container though. I have done this “meal” though, but I scoop how much I want into a bowl first. Maybe drizzle some honey or something onto it.
I agree with eating healthy, but if you’re buying cheese-it’s, as an example, the generic brand is equally bad for you as the name brand. You should still try to make healthy choices, but name brand doesn’t make anything healthy.
Most people are being very specific, but I’d say consumables in general. Rarely is a name brand food or medicine any different than generic. Often they’re literally produced in the same factory. Stuff that’s meant to last, generally a more expensive product will be made more durable (not always), but this isn’t a consideration with consumables. If it’s a one-time use or edible, I’m going with the cheapest option 99% of the time.
Oh, for sure. It doesn’t say how long it’s been though. I’m just saying don’t take the word if a person who hid the fact they had a child drill into someone’s skull. There’s really no way to know how it went.
It said “the operation was said to have gone off without issue, the patient is still unable to work”. Who is saying it didn’t have issues though? If the patient still isn’t able to work, it sounds potentially like there may have potentially been issues. It may have actually not had issues, but I’m not taking the surgeon or hospital’s word for it, assuming it is them who said this.
Yeah, putting different rounds in a magazine isn’t that weird. It’s particularly useful if you are using tracers, to notify you when the end of the magazine is coming up for example, and to only have a tracer every few rounds. Even without that, there are reasons someone might have for mixing rounds in a magazine. Obviously, like you said, same caliber is how this is done. If it’s alternating calibers then that’s not great.
In my opinion, the book is almost alway “better” but they’re different. A show or movie can be more entertaining for the unit of time you spend on it, but you’ll be reading a lot longer. It can also introduce new people to great books. For example, how many people read the Game of Thrones series after the show started?
Movies/shows can be great, especially for well written stories. They have to be different than the books, because they have less time and actually have to re-create what the book only has to describe. They are a good part of the entertainment ecosystem, and even if the book is better. Alternative versions existing do not harm the book. They can exist together.
Just a heads up, you can use the same name on another instance anyway. You can’t really sit on the name except on an instance on Lemmy. Lemmy.world has the largest number, but it should be diversified in case they go bad or rogue. If you did decide to create a community, I’d recommend doing it on another instance just to attempt to spread things out some. Putting everything on one instance is a recipe for disaster, like the Reddit issues.
I’m just wondering what kind of content is specific to gay gamers? I would think that the reason there isn’t enough content is because pretty much all of it could just be in another community. If people want to socialize with only that subgroup then that’s fine, but plenty of gay stuff is talked about in regular gaming communities.
It probably wasn’t my first one because I have been playing games younger than I can remember, but the first one I remember playing is The Lion King. You don’t forget playing that game. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to make a game about a kid’s movie so damn difficult?
You’ve gotten plenty of replies, so I’m sure this has been said. There’s nothing to make the content or behavior better. The thing that’s better is it isn’t controlled by a single entity. If 9ne of the hosts tries to use their power to restrict API calls, for example, the other instances can ignore them. Anyone can always spin up new instances as well.
That said, one instance (Lemmy.world) has far more users and communities than any other, which isn’t ideal. If they were to just cut ties with everyone else then a lot of people and communities would become lost. This doesn’t have to be the case, and hopefully it diversifies, but it is the case right now.
It’s obviously the real actress. Who else would it be? Do you think someone on the internet would just pick that name to use if it isn’t theirs?
Well, achktually SUDO stands for “substitute-user do.” The default action just happens to be the super user, but you can substitute any user.
The vast majority of people I see declaring we’re #1 are taking credit for it but not working to be the best in the world. It’s the people who are saying we shouldn’t help other people outside the US (or even inside). It’s not a declaration of intent for most people. It’s a badge of pride that they don’t deserve and don’t intend to maintain.
If it actually were used like you imply, I don’t doubt we would be the best. It would require us working to improve the world around us, not just benefit ourselves. Usually it’s said out of nationalism though, not optimism.
Technically they have the same minimum wage. If they don’t get back up to minimum wage in tips, the employer is legally required to make up the difference. The issue is most people don’t know this, and so employers get away not doing it. This is one of the many forms of wage theft, the most common form of theft in the US.
