The Chinese leader, Xi Jinping, has said China is willing to cooperate with the US as both sides manage their differences and work together to respond to global challenges, raising hopes of a meeting between Xi and the US president, Joe Biden, this year.

Why bother? China will just stab us in the back again & invade Taiwan.

The entire west should be making “other arrangements”.

      Why bother?

      Uh…because war is horrible?

That’s not a reason to get lax, but to remain vigilant while moving towards greater collaboration.

War is horrible. China’s actions against our allies, Taiwan & the Philippines make it seem like they are cool with war though, so we need to prepare in kind.

Thus I see no advantage for the USA to further entwine our economy with the CCP.

When did China ever stab us in the back?

Far more likely: we’ll stab them in the back when another fascist gets elected and heightens the tradewar.
