Over the last few years I have seen many mini handhelds make its way onto the scene, many failed, a few succeeded, and now we have a new contender, the…View Post
It’s cute and surprisingly well built, but at that size it is more of a novelty. If you stick to simple games and you’ve got smaller fingers it’s maybe viable for “5 minutes at the bus stop” type situations.
If anyone is looking at this and wishing there was something even smaller, have a look at the Thumby, the true handheld for ants.
I was given the Thumby as a surprise gift recently and I LOVE it! Yes, for 99% of people it’s a silly novelty, but as someone who loves the Game Boy and making hobby games it’s perfect for me!
On the Thumby, it certainly says something when all the quotes on the link are amazement at its size rather than whether they actually can play anything on it

That Thumby thing seems interesting but holy hell… How am I supposed to play that? I Guess it’s a great birthday present for a pet ant indeed.
I was a Kickstarter backer for the Thumby, I have fairly small hands and even I struggle to play it!
It’s a very fun keyring though, and an interesting novelty for a lifelong Game Boy fan.
