Germany has the strongest economy in Europe. The debt compared to the GDP is half of what the US has. And I guess a lot of the money goes directly back into it’s own industry, since they are a big military supplier. They can easily afford it.

Realistically, they’re giving Ukraine their old stocks and modernizing, something the Bundeswehr and NATO have been calling for for years.

So, if you are wondering how out of date some of their hardware is in Germany, NPR did a story. During NATO joint exercises, German infantry had analog radios that just weren’t compatible with the other units. The bureaucracy is massive in procurement, ostensibly to prevent the rise of an imperialist army (again). It’s like 18 offices a form has to pass through——each with own requirements.

You can’t think of a government household the same was of a private one. There is no need to be debt free by a certain age, the income is quiet controllable and the main debt payer is inflation. It’s just what they tell you: Oh no, we can’t afford [insert social stuff of your choice here]! Oh military, industry, you want some more? Sure, I make it double! Best, sexyboy Lindner :*

Nah, Lindner himself is going around telling people we don’t have money, Bundeswehr didn’t get their 100 Billion (not a single cent of it) there was supposed to be social security adjustments, no money for it…

Im all for helping Ukraine, but that will fuel the right wing again.

Well the money for the Bundeswehr is there, it’s just not used, yet, because you can’t buy tanks at LIDL. And the whole Bundeswehr seems to be very bureoucratic
