Davis was right in his early criticism of the war in Afghanistan, but I can’t help to wonder if the report wasn’t more “if you don’t take off the kids gloves we won’t be able to actually win.” type of report.
Pro-Russia propaganda then. Funny how America’s right has embraced the west’s greatest enemy. When I was a kid I was told the reason communism was bad was because it was tyrannical to those living under it, Russia is still tyrannical but capitalist and now they’re totally on board. In hindsight, it was never about the tyranny. It was about profit.
A theoretical potential that has unfortunately never panned out. Similar to the glorification of capitalism by some people should stop pointing to a theoretical communist Utopia that will never be, it’s the same lunacy.
