  • Two cats, both have their own annoying thing. Black short hair bob tail: will get into any and all food if left out. Has learned to open cabinets and cupboard to get to hidden food. Has chewed through a cardboard box to chew through the bag of dog food, found him neck deep in the bag crunching away. Has chewed a hole in a canvas bag to get to dog food. Oh, and recently started peeing in the laundry. Long haired colorful: gets bored and wants to go outside, will wander the house screaming at the top of his lungs, clawing at every door. Happens anywhere between midnight and 3am, almost every night. Will bolt for the door if you have it open and aren’t watching for him. Where does he want to go? Rolls on his back in the road.

  • No. That 2% is with the membership, you get a certificate back every year based on what you spend in the store. The people talking about having to spend $3000 to break even are talking about this 2% return in relation to the membership fee. All the credit card rewards, cash back, or other points from whatever card you use are in addition, as well as all the discounted prices further reducing your cost burden.

Yes, you are paying 120 (130now I guess) for the privilege of spending less for more, with the additional benefit of making back that payment and more by buying the same things you would have bought from Walmart or wherever

  • Agree he hasn’t lost his license yet, as that is currently what is being threatened if he does not comply with the court order. Hasn’t actually happened yet, just will if he doesn’t.

As for being harmful… I don’t know how to spell this out any simpler than the quote so I’ll just make it easier to read I guess?

**THE COURT DECLARED DR. PETERSON’S ACTIVITIES AS HARMFUL TO THE PUBLIC AND DAMAGING TO THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGY **

I’m really not what there is to misunderstand, he is under threat of losing his license because his actions are HARMFUL TO THE PUBLIC AND THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGY

  • Newtons laws actually do an amazingly good job of describing motion in the realms of physics we typically interact with. Newtons laws aren’t wrong, for things like making an airplane fly and boats float, or things like throwing a ball/shooting an arrow/shooting a bullet, they’re just incomplete when you look at the “extremes” like inner planetary orbits. The main reason Einstein is so revered is because he was able to develop a theory and equations that do accurately predict what had been observed.

Almost certainly Einsteins theory is similarly incomplete, we just have to find the extremes where its predictions don’t agree with experiment and then understand what the experiment results actually mean and what could cause them.

One thing to always remember is that all these laws and theories and equations are just ways to model and predict the reality we experience. All models are wrong. Some models are useful.

  • The cold weather makes your immune system work harder, so all the normal crap you get exposed to has a higher chance to slip through the cracks and start growing.

The factor about people “huddling together” is a really bad way to say that generally people go outside less, and more time inside increases the chances of being around other people, and even if those people are not actively sick they can still be carrying enough virus to spread it. Think of it like getting sun burned, you can get exposed and be fine, some people are really good at resisting exposure, others are more sensitive, but if you do nothing to reduce exposure and nothing to protect yourself from that exposure, ya gonna get burned.

  • I just got done living in KY for about 5 years, the one I like for a reasonable price was Basil Hayden, I think it’s from the Jim beam distillery but it’s not too expensive and it’s nice and smooth. But there are literally thousands of different bourbon and even one distillery group might have several brand names, like the owners of Jim beam actually makes old grandad, makers mark, and knob creek as well

  • I’m currently 36 miles from the closest, it’s worth a trip at least twice a month for me. You just gotta plan ahead a little more and stock up for less frequent trips. One thing I like doing is getting a travel size version of house hold cleaning stuff like dish or laundry soap to use as the thing to refill from the giant Costco jugs instead of lugging a gallon of soap every time.

Another non Costco tip is don’t use dishwasher or laundry pods, even being cheaper from Costco, they’re super overpriced for the same ingredients as a box of powder that you can get generic from any grocery store.
