When we switch to DST, we "Fall Back. ". We set the clocks one hour back, at 2:00am Sunday, so basically we get an extra hour of sleep just on that night. Then we lose one when we set the clocks forward in the spring.

To be fair, I don’t think that extra hour, once in the Fall, is used as a reason for Daylight Savings in any debates.

A “major” hasn’t hit Tampa in over 100 years. (Major being 3 or higher.) Since landfall was Sarasota, I don’t know if this counts to break the streak, but it’s definitely the worst wind and rain in decades for Tampa and St. Pete. I’m very glad the storm surge didn’t also set records

Anachronox. Ion Storm at it’s best. Engaging plot and characters, humor well ahead of its time for a game script, and party members and environments that I’ve still never seen many games match to this day. I don’t know why it didn’t become huge, I think the rpg crowd back then was still pretty married to sword and sandal conventions. If you like old games, I can’t recommend it enough.

Breugger’s bagels, may they rest in peace, used to have a bacon/scallion cream cheese. That was divine on cinnamon raisin bagels. I don’t know what upset people more, the scallion on a sweet substrate, or the bacon on a bagel. It doesn’t matter, if this is goy, I don’t want to be kosher.

I’m guessing the same reason there are professional certifications for stage combat coordinators, stunt choreographers, and firearms instructors even for movies. If doing your job poorly could very likely result in harm to others on the job site, there should be some standards and practices that are explicit and measureable, and like the SAE, maybe a trade group who assists their members with certs and continuing education.

Handling sexual activity on a set can definitely result in harm if done poorly or negligently.

If this functions to poll users broadly, then count another one for NOT federating. I came to Lemmy to not have my feed dominated by a tsunami of corporate junk curated by one of the worst influences in modern society. And if the counter argument is that I can block their content, then you can go join threads.
