Now you got me nostalgic for pre-internet days of BBSs and local chat boards. I used to belong to one where we would meet once a month in a Cafe. It was almost like a secret society where you knew everyone.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Which country do you like the most?
3·5 months agoI give it 5-10 years, if that, before Brazil flips to China. Especially since Trump is trying to tell them how to run the country and China is proposing a transcontinental railroad.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•how many people came to this platform due to leaving / being banned from Reddit?
3·5 months agoWhat got me upset with reddit is how sensitive its algorithm is falsely flagging stuff inciting violence. And then you appeal and nothing happens. I even got banned once for saying the Second Ammendment applies to the left too. It’s like you are in a bad relationship, walking on eggshels.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What music do you have a reason for avoiding?
2·5 months agoAgreed. The triteness of a song is what gives it away for me. For example, if a goth song keeps hammering out about vampires and cemeteries I skip right over it and assume it’s AI. Real lyrics are a lot more nuanced.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What music do you have a reason for avoiding?
2·5 months agoI’ve been noticing a ton of thosebon YouTube. Especially for goth music. I don’t mind if they use AI for images as not all independent bands have money to produce a video. However, using it to make the song is pretty vile. Especially because the lyrics are trite to the point of screaming.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people switch from chrome to Brave browser and not to Firefox?
1·6 months agoI don’t need a lot of features others don’t have. I started using it before it used chromium as a base and kind of just stuck with it. I do like the built in ad blocking and VPN, even though I have a stand alone vpn.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people switch from chrome to Brave browser and not to Firefox?
1·6 months agoIt’s a combination of having used it forever and it has all the features I want. Part might also be that subversive little me likes using something not everyone knows exist.

11·6 months agoDon’t look at me, I’ve been an Opera fan for more years than I care to admit.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you have an inner voice, does it sound like you or someone else?
7·6 months agoI used to work with video production for a while and a lot of voice over artists do that to preview what they sound like.
I think my inner voice sound like I think I sound.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone truly think times are better now than 30 years ago? (US)
32·6 months agoWhile medical advanced have improved, acces to medical treatment, at least in the US has declined. What good are cures and treatments that most of the population cannot afford? To me it’s just as bad as not having them, or even worse.
