You are probably referring to Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou. There are a lot of SOL anime so I got to choose something. Personally I think it is pretty good but not as good as some other anime that I would recommend over it. As well as the fact that Bocchi the Rock has a mostly female cast so I unconsciously selected anime that are similar in that regard. If OP wants to try something with a large male cast this is the only anime I can think of that would be fitting so it’s good that you mention it.

What is similar? Does it need to be a band anime? Does it require social anxiety characters? Just cute girls doing cute things (CGDCT) in general? Have yuri elements?

• slice of life (SOL) with characters playing in a band: K-ON! (band aspect is secondary)
• SOL with anxious main character: Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu
• general SOL/CGDCT classics: Lucky Star, Nichijou, Azumanga Daioh
• more modern SOL/CGDCT: Kiniro Mosaic, Gochuumon wa Usagi desuka?
• SOL with yuri: Hidamari Sketch (moderate, also a classic), Yuyushiki (lots)

edit: I personally don’t think that Bocchi the Rock! is super laid back, but if you compare it to action shows it obviously is. If you really want to go the laid back route you can look into the genre Iyashikei (“healing type”) with anime such as Non Non Biyori, Yuru Camp (still have to watch this one so can’t verify personally but is very popular) and Yokohama Kaidaishi Kikou (absolute classic).

Favorite is tough is choose. But I think Hiiragi Tsukasa has the most moe for me.

The anime doesn’t have to be good, it just has to make you interested in the lightnovel, which is where the profits are. With that in mind, the cheaper the anime can be produced the better. This is probably why there are so many shitty isekai and they keep coming.

You know that in the FOSS space Microsoft does not have a good standing. Asking people on a FOSS based social media to give anonymous answers about another FOSS project through a Microsoft service is a bit of an oversight.

I don’t see why the moderation tools couldn’t just be improved on Lemmy. The new moderator view has been very useful for me as a moderator. We already have Lemmy and Kbin. The Sublinks about page doesn’t say how it is going to be different/better than the existing options apart from moderation tools. On top of that it is made in Java instead of Rust? That’s just going backwards in my opinion… This post also does not state why you guys are interested in a Lemmy alternative. You could have named some issues you have with it and why something else would be better(just like the Sublinks guys could have done in their about page). I started my communities here and put a lot of effort in them. I can’t just switch instances without destroying most of the work done. The language used here really makes it sound like this instance is on borrowed time. Being able to transfer communities to another instance would be nice…

Lemmy.ml used to have the K-ON! community. The mod posted fan art regularly. None of the fan art was NSFW (pretty sure there was a rule against that). But one day it vanished without warning. I don’t know if the lemmy.ml admins have anything to do with it but it’s not a great sign.
