If the government were to effectively cap income potential, some workers who would otherwise be more productive (or who perform a highly specialized service) will not bother, creating a labor shortage and increasing costs. Not a smart move if you’re a country with an inflation problem that’s been trending very close to full employment.

It would also make occupations like medicine that have long runways to earning even less attractive.

People volunteer for causes they think are worthy. I would never do the work I get paid to do for free or for 10% of gross pay. I’d just find a less stressful job, work way less and make about the same.

Of course, takeoff and climb are typically at full power but to reach cruising altitudes for a single engine airplane doesn’t take very long. It’s a similar concept to a car on a highway onramp, except that airplanes actually get more efficient at higher altitudes.

It factors into overall consumption but it doesn’t really blow the whole equation for efficiency. Pilots in training do takeoffs and landings on repeat for hours at a stretch between refueling.

Although, there is an initiative underway to fully phase out leaded avgas. G100UL is the FAA approved formulation. Exciting time and long overdue.

It’s the “partnership between the public and private sectors” in particular that lost consumer and foreign government trust in technology originating from China.

How is China going to “dominate” anything when it’s spent the last 20+ years shamelessly ripping off R&D through reverse-engineering and corporate espionage? What can it even claim of its own as true innovation?

It’s not on my ID, though. And even if it were, they’d need a way to monitor actual occupancy over time and there’s no way that wouldn’t be invasive.

It’s common and reasonable to be away from home for months at a time, and you have a right to travel. I can only imagine the burden this would place on someone who’s away for medical treatment or supporting a distant family member. Or just out of the house for renovations or an issue they can’t afford to fix currently.

The administrative burden alone would be huge before you get to unintended consequences.
