I think, if you don’t intend to tinker, the newest Ubuntu is a valid option as well.

I don’t say I like Ubuntu, but I am not the target. I think common Windows and mac user will still have their best linux time on Ubuntu.

Just make sure, that they stay up to date and get their software mostly from snapstore (which I for myself don’t even really like).

Most common software will just work, as it does on macOS.

Now you are kinda forced to use it like a macOS device, with keyboard and mouse, which is so fucking stupid, because the UI is giant and not made for small windows like you have on a 11” device

Stay away! I regret updating my 11” so much!

It brings 0 productivity to me having more than 2 windows, because they are too small for the big touch UI.

Even worse is, that it now takes sooo many steps until you are finally in splitscreen.

And then, you have a giant gab between the two apps.

This is definitely not a touch first user experience anymore and I hate it.

And to make matters even more worse, they removed SlideOver completely, even in fullscreen mode

I think, that I will upgrade to 16 pro max used by a friend who protects their phone that much, that it looks like new 😆

And I think, my 12mini goes down to my son, soon

Sell it on eBay 🤗 on one hand you generally get mor for it than trade in, but on the other hand, you have to invest some time instead

It is relevant that they have the chip called pro in it, even when they only use a fraction of its power.

I see many people buying that for how it looks, and I know many people who hate multi lens

I know many who don’t even take a lot photos

And I know many people who don’t want to go back to aluminium

I know many people who have the pro because non-pro feels cheap for them

I know many people who think pro is too heavy

And I even know people who want thinners phones, especially women, because it still fits better in the pocket and is less visible from outside

If you have a build server that builds every commit you push, you can work on other bugs or features in the meantime without needing more time.

And as soon as you have to search bugs in a big python project, you will use up all the “saved time” pretty fast.
