  • Not sure how deeply positive it was necessarily, but as far as I can tell I changed at least one person’s life significantly.

    When I was in middle school I learned how to solve the Rubik’s cube through online tutorials, and afterwards I was basically addicted to it for a while and I was messing with a cube all the time. One of my classmates was interested in learning how to solve one, so I drew a bunch of guides and taught him the terminology, and soon enough he was also hooked on the Rubik’s cube.

    I eventually grew tired of it, but he kept going and learned how to solve all sorts of smaller and bigger cubes and pyramids. I bumped into him at uni a few years later and he had a cube in his hand lol. Last I heard of him he was even participating in some local competitions, but idk what he’s up to now.

    Even if he ultimately gave up on his speedcubing dreams I can at least say that I introduced him to a cool new hobby that kept him entertained for several years.

  • Winter because I live in Brazil, which is a tropical and very humid country so the heat can get unbearable even here in the south where it’s colder compared to the north.

    There are a few cities that get cold enough to reach negative Cº, but where I live it’s mostly between 10º-20º during winter so I just need some extra coats and more blankets and I’m happy. During summer I can only take off so many layers before it becomes illegal.

    Step 1: Put all your money in crypto.

    Step 2: Pray like hell that it’ll go up and not down.

    /s in case it wasn’t obvious

    Other options include:

    1. Start a church;

    2. Start a new religion;

    3. Create an MLM company;

    4. Buy some dumb stock and then try to convince r/wallstreetbets to buy it as well;

    5. Post right-wing propaganda to YouTube and then hope the algorithm and/or some rich oil baron will notice you.

  • I expect that Elon or some other famous person is going to use Dogecoin again to scam their fans and make a quick buck in the near future.

    I like that Ethereum’s system changed to use far less energy and thus emit less carbon.

    I guess Monero can be useful if you want to buy drugs online or whatever, which I’m fine with.

    I know that some people feel really strongly about crypto, either positively or negatively, but I’m mostly disinterested. It’s not going to become a particularly useful currency any time soon and it’s way too volatile, so if I ever decide to invest in something I’ll pick normal stocks instead.

  • An example of why this is incorrrect.

    If a card is the ace of spades, it is black.

    A card is black if and only if it is the ace of spades.

    There are other conditions under which B (a card is black) can happen, so the second statement is not true.

    A conclusion that would be correct is “If a card is not black, it is not the ace of spades.”. The condition is that if A is true B will also always be true, so if B is false we can be sure that A is false as well - i.e. “If not B, not A”.
