Idk sounds like projecting to me

This happened to me last year. Bought a cs4 and cs5 design suites back when they came out. Only ever used on one computer. When i unauthorized my computer and moved it to a new one they wouldn’t authorize it and demanded proof of purchase. I showed those fuckers a paper receipt from 10-15 years ago. They wouldn’t accept it and required additional information to verify i was authorized to purchase the software at the discounted price from an authorized retailer. It took several back and forth before they issued a new cd key instead of reactivating mine.

I suspect the cdkeys were cracked at some point and i just had the unfortunate luck of mine being abused. Would be nice if they didn’t require online authentication for a product i legitimately own though. If they are going to require online authentication then they need a more secure way of generating their cd keys.

What advantage is there is changing nameservers? Is it just the centrally manage DNS or something else? I’m fairly new to self hosting and only serving locally for now.

I do know cloudflare uses the same nameservers PER ACCOUNT so if you’re wanting to have multiple domains but keep one or more connections separated from you then this does draw a minor connection to a subset of Cloudflare accounts with the same two nameservers

I believe you’re correct. I can’t speak for other people but for myself it is not that i want a bloodborne remake or remaster. I just want a PC port.

I’m not paying a subscription to stream the game to my PC. Im not buying a ps4 to play a single game. And i believe I’m not entirely alone in this

Of course this could apply to a lot of other things and i realize it isn’t particularly rational. Though on the note of modern needle vs not, a single biopsy on a live animal is causing harm so that’s not a good comparison since that is not vegan by any standard.

But i mention the past suffering here because that is what i would be reminded of eating lab grown meat, rational or not. In general i think if the current process is vegan then it is fine (so using a biopsy on a recently, naturally, deceased animal or from an umbilical cord).

Extracting the stem cells may or may not cause harm to animals. If it is extracted from a live animal then it would cause harm and stress to an animal.

The medium used for growing may not be vegan (like FSB which is extracted from an animals death). But reportedly companies are moving to cheaper, plant-based, mediums.

Even if the process caused no harm or stress to animals, I’m not sure i would eat lab grown meat. I’ve already completely replaced meat in my cooking, and learned how to make much more nutrious meals. Adding meat back in would be regressive. Not to mention i feel like lab grown meat in particular will have been made possible through animal suffering research. While I’m glad it will have potential to be a net positive in the long run, i personally don’t feel the desire to support lab grown meat

My work agreement is supposed to be 8-5 with hour lunch. I work 9-5 or 8-4 and eat at my desk when i can. But i do have mandatory overtime which sometimes makes it 7am-9pm. Fun times

Id set up a static website with Hugo. You can preview and build locally. Or put it on your home network and vpn in if you need remote access to make an entry.

In your content folder you could do content/[year]/[month]/[day]/index.md, and have a _index.md in the year and in month folders so there would be pages with automatic collection of articles under that year/ month. You could also subdivide the content folder into health/ general/ shower thoughts and other “types” of journals

They have support for tags, categories, and custom taxonomies. So if you wanted to have “people” category you could, and then a “thing” category or any other sort of way to tag the content.

If you haven’t already, check out https://choosealicense.com/licenses/ . This gives a broad overview of the common open source licenses. And if you’re just starting out, one of the first things you’ll want to learn is that the licenses fall into either a permissive or copyleft category. You’ll want to make sure you understand the difference between those broad categories.

Shortly, permissive have less to no strings attached to use their code, and copyleft requires you to retain the same licensing terms meaning if you publish under GPLv3 then someone using/ modifying your code needs to also publish under GPLv3. Copyleft licenses ensure that open source code stays open source.

Sounds like this was “resolved” on HN and CEO said this was an error, but I’m not so sure. The CEO’s response seems to imply that that communication to/from service reps is true and not made up. The original post shows they have a business practice for cases like this. Plus if the company was willing to settle from their business practice of 20% down to 5% (which in this case was 15k) then that very likely isn’t a decision a service rep could make, so you had some mid to upper level manager make that approval to write-off the $15k and decide that $5k was still owed to the company.

As far as I can tell the only error here is that someone posted about it.

Not to mention the CEO’s response from HN just says this shouldn’t have happened on free accounts, but that begs the question of would this have been any different on non-free accounts where Netlify failed to mitigate a DDoS as advertised?

I had a falling out with a friend but apparently he had listed me as a reference. Now if we were on good terms i mightve lied for him, but he had terrible work ethic and i watched him get fired from one job to the next on repeat for years. So when they asked if i would consider him a good worker i told them frankly i thought he was a terrible worker and how he had been terminated from half a dozen jobs in the 2-3 years i had known him.

I have no idea why i was listed as a reference and i especially don’t know why he wouldn’t tell me he was using me as a reference. But yeah he for sure didn’t get that job.
