I’ve never had premium, mostly out of spite after the forcing ads on unmonetized creators and removing the dislike count, once I was able to afford it. But I’ve seen some other post on Lemmy with the “products you may like” appearing on a premium account.
I’ve seen people getting a “products you may like” in the suggestions, with premium. There is no way to remove that (other than uBlock origin)
It’s not just that, it’s also random content totally outside of your interest (I watch gaming and motorcycle content and it tries to feature some foreign holiday celebration videos lol) and worse, “products you may like.”
If I pay this kind of money, I expect an API to user-respecting third party apps.
That’s what they should do. Allow use of Reddit-style third party apps (before the API debacle) for premium users.
It’s not about paying, it’s about still getting these stupid featured pop-ups after paying.
This is the true reason why I don’t have YouTube premium. This is quite an awful experience for a supposedly premium subscription. Why pay for premium if the experience is better using free methods?
Please corporations, treat paying subscribers well.
I currently have a '06 Suzuki GZ250. I got it 3 months ago and already have put 1600 miles on it.
I’m already getting the itch for a faster motorcycle, though. I first test rode a Harley Davidson Sportster 48, which was fun and tourquey but kind of heavy and not as comfortable as I expected (Harley = cruiser = comfortable so I thought). I then made the decision (mistake?) of test riding a Triumph Trident 660, and holy crap that was so much fun, I need it in my life lol even though I can’t afford it.
I also had an unexpected “adventure” getting stuck in the mud recently when trying to go off the beaten path. Dual sports have way too high seat heights for me but maybe I should get an ADV bike?
God help me the day I try a supersport bike. Make sure I don’t submit to squid-dom…
Forza Horizon 5. I like to just drive around the map for a while, and maybe do a race or two, until I inevitably get bored after an hour or so. Repeat every week.
(until I bought a real life motorcycle to scratch that itch, and no, I’m not racing or being dangerous on my motorcycle)
When I get a bit more space to myself, I’m thinking of somehow wall mounting a 42"-50" 4K TV and using that as a work monitor. Or maybe I don’t need a wall mount. I’d have what feels like acres of screen real estate.
My 2nd monitor. It’s some 24" curved 165Hz 1080p monitor that I bought from a guy at my university for $105. While not the best for gaming (noticable ghosting), it’s been incredibly helpful for work as it gets more complicated in university. The extra screen real estate lets me fit so much more without needing to alt tab or click on another window.
No, it’s a premium commodity because of how much Apple marks up the storage cost. 128GB costs you $100, even though you can buy a 2TB SSD (or 6TB HDD) for under that.
On storage, the markup is about 2000%.
And on RAM if we compare to DDR5 (not totally fair because of how Apple’s unified memory works), it’s about 800% marked up.
What I’m noticing is that the first game had 2015 graphics and on a medium to large city runs at cinematic framerates (20-30fps). On Cities 2 the graphics are a mishmash of 2010 and 2025 graphics that run somewhat poorly, but also stutter a lot. On my 10k city I’m getting 45fps average with low-medium settings with the recommended changes to improve performance, but large lag spikes are frequent.
I’ve been having playable framerates but they’re not improving. On a 10k city I get about 45fps average but I frequently experience frame drops which definitely make it less enjoyable to play the game. My specs are Ryzen 9 5900HX, RX6800M, 32GB RAM
10k gets you a brand new Yamaha MT-09: A sick-looking naked motorcycle with a 3 cylinder 118hp engine. It’s really frickin fast.
They dropped it in the newest Xperia 1 V. Still kept all of the other great features though.
Almost anything Google. I have an Android because I hate the restrictions of iOS, but forcing me to sell my location to Google if I want to know where I am (even in an open source app because location is a system thing).
How does a country of 1.4 billion have 6 billion people with less than 1000 RMB/mo of disposable income?
Perhaps 2024 will be the year of the girlfriend
Making money over the summer and upgrading to a faster motorcycle
