Yeah I agree. My tummy hurt replying to that post because I knew I was going to get more insane replies. And I got them. As some one who cares, it is really hard not to reply to socially detrimental posts. I always hope at least one person reads them and gets a chance to escape to a better place in life.

No, I don’t think that would be good. So for example if there was a guy who thought we should all be eating lead. And every time he posts you put up facts about how eating lead was poisonous. And then the lead guy blocked you. Then every time the lead guy posts about how everyone should eat lead, you wouldn’t see it and so you wouldn’t be able to reply with how lead is poisonous.

So if the lead guy blocked everyone who disagreed with him publicly. Then the lead guy can just post whatever they want and no who knew lead was poisonous would reply because they wouldn’t see the post. So others who didn’t know lead was poisonous would start seeing this guy posting about eating lead without being challenged. And so they might think it’s a good thing.

Ah, my bad, my brain erroneously conflated paying people with private companies. Thanks for catching me on that. I am fine with it being done in the public center as long as there isn’t a more anonymous way of age verification. There may be a public private key cryptography thing we could use instead. I don’t know if this has been explored yet.

I like the rest of your points, but moving verification off to a different private companies is not solving anything. Why would a second company not sell your data or make it easy to steal?

Mostly no, but if the company killed their kid or something like that and they continue to defend it, I start to judge.

Whatever you do make sure they have an out. Don’t back them into a corner. Be clear, it’s okay for them to say they are not interested. If they seem uncomfortable or weirded out, back away.

Don’t make it a big thing in your head. Be prepared to be rejected while hoping you won’t be.
