I’ve been playing the Zelda series since the original NES game in the 80s. BOTW and TOTK are some of my favorites.

Try to understand that influencers and content creators are human beings and not infallible. I don’t think Mark or Derek are the greatest people in the world, but they are trying to put educational and entertaining content out into the world, and don’t seem to be malicious in intent.

Give them a break and see where they land down the road. If they turn out to be trash, judge em all you want. As someone that doesn’t spend the time and effort to pass my experience on to others, I’ll give them a bit of wiggle room on the politics associated with operating in the public attention economy.

Might be a reasonable argument if you didn’t have 76 years of his rotten behavior as precedent in processing the decision made by a jury of his peers…

These are going to sell out regardless of if anyone buys them. This is just a way rich people launder money.

Sell something that costs a minimal amount to make for an outrageous price. They don’t have to worry about whether or not a consumer would buy it because the object is trivial. It’s about legally passing money from one place to another in a way that looks like business.

The same thing happens when you see obvious trash make it onto a ‘best seller’ list.

If you have the hue color lights, I like beige and peach for warm light that isn’t too yellow.

I read something saying that it takes 6-12 months for the neural pathways for taste and smell recognition to reform in a permanent way.

I briefly lost my sense of taste and smell 2 years ago. I ‘got it back’ after a week, but everything is still less intense… maybe 20-30% muted. Some things came back with very distinct differences. Alcohol taste like rotten garbage, dairy tastes off, things I didn’t like aren’t as powerful and things I used to love don’t hit like they used to.

I tried retraining smell with different scented oils over the course of a few months, but didn’t really see any difference. Hell, maybe it worked on some things, but the things that it didn’t work for stand out in my mind… maybe that’s cognitive bias.

Other than that, I don’t have any lasting side effects. I don’t even know for sure that it was from Covid. By the time I realized I had a taste change, I tested a few times and never came up positive. I am assuming I had a case and was asymptomatic until the sense change and stopped shedding by the time I tested, but you can develop anosmia/parosmia from other viruses, like the flu, too.

Same same. I had a thermos I accidentally left hot cocoa (made with milk) in for about 6 months when it fell behind my car seat. I thought I was going to have to throw it out because it smelled so horribly rancid. I booked some water and flushed it out and used white vinegar for a few overnight soaks and it got the smell out. Like a brand new thermos…

I was in operations working the DuPont schedule for over a decade. Concerning DST, you work an extra hour, with pay, or work a shift that is one hour less, depending on which direction the clock is moving

When we worked the 11 hour shift (normally 12), as clocks spring forward, you would be compensated a full paycheck if you had no overtime hours, as the company was forced to pay you a full 2 weeks of wage for the pay period. If you had any overtime hours in that check, your pay would reflect 1 hour less to cover the shortage due to the time change.

Some companies pay the full 12 hr shift when the clocks spring forward, but mine didn’t.

The Human Resources department at most large companies is there to protect the employer, not the worker.
