This has made my day.
This has made my day.
Just about every video that pops up on my feed with a title like that or “is this ________ now?” gets “not interested” or “don’t recommend channel” clicked.
I don’t care if the content is good. The fact is that we do judge books by their covers - that’s the business model.
Don’t fret, dear, you’ll be one of the first standing in front of the wall.
In my friend group at work, it’s a bit of absurdism because of the 5 of us, 3 of our mothers are literally dead and the other two are emotionally dead. The two emotionally dead ones - stopped talking to our coworkers when one came out as trans and the other was when he left the Mormon church.
We will substitute in the dead fathers as well, especially if it makes the joke funnier.
“Your momma’s so old when she tries to hawk tuah, my dick gets dusty.”
“Whatever, my mom is dust.”
“My mom probably thinks Hawk Tuah is a gay pop star.”
“Your dad wishes Hawk Tuah was a gay pop star.”
And so forth and so on.
Assembled a thousand years after the fact by a group with a vested interest in solidifying the narrative to fit their own.
Hell, the Tanakh didn’t really get put together until well after Christianity appeared and it was a reaction to Christians appropriating Jewish literary culture to establish their own.
It’d be similar to people a thousand years from believing that Christian Gray is literally descended from Edward and Bella.
Exactly. An example from outside the Bible might be Achilles. There was probably a great warrior with that name in the Mycenaean Greek world. Later storytellers probably just added more to make it sound better or the material was from other warriors who were like Achilles.
Some of Jesus’ teachings definitely come from the milieu of the Roman era in Judea and Palestina.
Personally my favorite head canon is that Jesus was, or his parents were, Egyptian born Jews or Coptic converts to Judaism. It’s a reverse Obamas birth certificate. There is so much time spent establishing the lineage and explaining the flight to Egypt.
There is no proof outside of the Bible and some other writings. Even those mentions seem to have occurred well after Jesus supposedly lived.
In terms of non-literary proof, there isn’t anything credible.
There’s more evidence that King David existed.
Why many word when few good?
Seriously though, “AI” itself is misleading but if they want to be ignorant and whiny about it, then they should be labeled just as they are.
What they really seem to want is an automatic metadata tag that is more along the lines of “a human took this picture and then used ‘AI’ tools to modify it.”
That may not work because by using Adobe products, the original metadata is being overwritten so Thotagram doesn’t know that a photographer took the original.
A photographer could actually just type a little explanation (“I took this picture and then used Gen Fill only”) in a plain text document, save it to their desktop, and copy & paste it in.
But then everyone would know that the image had been modified - which is what they’re trying to avoid. They want everyone to believe that the picture they’re posting is 100% their work.
There’s the issue - anyone with any sense or sensibility has left The Xitter. All that’s left are the bots, the unknowing, and the attention whores. Xitter is the new Facebook.
I try to refer to it as Xitter. Posts are xeets.

Oooooohhhhhh…thank you! I’ve been on Lemmy for a bit but still have a lot to learn about the fediverse.
Thanks. I hadn’t thought of that.
I wash everything with the same detergent etc and I don’t have issues with other items.
Yes I am.
Yeah, essential oils are pretty potent. As are the delusions some folks have about them.
The leaves probably have the highest concentration but there’s oil throughout the whole tree.
In reading on how the Tencel is made, it doesn’t appear that they do anything special to remove oils, just making sure the fibers are flexible and “dry.”
I double-checked, it says “hypo” though it’s definitely “hyper” for me.
I ran them through the wash before using them and it was pretty much instantaneous.
Suffered through that night, in case it was something else. Next day, my allergies calmed down and when I laid down, it started again.
It’s upsetting bc they’re super squishy and comfortable.
I wonder if it has to do with the Tencel being made from the wood, not the leaves - that there’d be less oil in the wood versus the leaves?
Find a used one if you can. It was definitely one of my favorites. My Pikmin and Animal Crossing lives started there.
It was just a good solid system.
SmartTube was working before I went to work and now it isn’t. I’m not too worried or upset. Yet.
