They’ve been called The Last Great ThinkPad over on r/thinkpad since they are both powerful - first generation with a quad-core processor - and nicely upgradable. The upgradeability also means that you don’t have to worry overly about the amount of RAM a used model has: you can always add more cheaply (and very easily).

I’m fully keyboard driven in my current editor, the issue is not that. It’s that the symbols I type show up with a noticeable delay. It’s like IRL lag.

If you post a new comment, it won’t leave your instance, but all the old posts/comments will still be there.

Could you clarify this for me? Say I follow a community on instance A with an instance B account. Then the community is mirrored on B, including comments. I comment on a post. Then is my comment stored on both A and B?

If the refresh rate is not higher than the the Onyx Boox Max, then it’s not even good for office work - for me at least, a visible delay between key press and sign showing up is a show stopper.

I have a Onyx Boox Max, an A4 b/w e-ink device. I can’t use that as a screen, due to too low refresh rate. Writing on it with it’s pen is great, but typing on it is horrible. The slight delay breaks the usability.
