Oh absolutely! I wouldn’t trust them with anything mission critical but for little projects here and there they’re absolutely amazing.
I’d recommend racknerd. Their black Friday pricing is available year round and they have super good annual pricing on some of their VPS options https://www.racknerd.com/BlackFriday/
This right here. If you block ads you’re literally worth less than nothing to them and they couldn’t care less where you go. You’re just a bandwidth leech. I use uBlock, but have some self awareness.
Rishi is an actual piece of shit.
Pixel 7, Firefox. 🔥🦊
Right? The headline makes it sound like they actually did something.
China wants us to boycott something? Got it, do the exact opposite.
I’m getting real sick of this lawsuit crap regarding AI. Precedent case law already says you can’t copyright work produced by AI. So what exactly did it fucking steal, and how does it negatively impact them?? Imo, it doesn’t.
At least we can vote the politicians out. Fuck monarchies.
Meh, not like they’re fed anyways lmao
This is one of my biggest pet peeves about YouTube.
Laws shouldn’t be written to appease any religion.
Honestly I would think less shit of them at this point if they just admitted to their garbage doings. Denying it just makes them seem like spineless pussies in addition to the horrid monsters they already are.
They consulted Twitch mods and they said it’s ok.
“crash”
You may want to reread what he said they’re buying…
In a literal theft from the people sense? Yes. In reality? No, he’s rich so he can do what he wants. Laws are to keep us poor in check, not to be fair.
The many instances and multiples of the same communities across all instances would absolutely be confusing to your average joe. But, once you start using Lemmy you realize understanding all that doesn’t matter and it just works. As for the stability thing… A fediverse of new communities based on open source software has growing pains? Gasp… The article reads like that person is truly unaware of how software works in the beginning.
I agree with almost everything you said. I’m not referring to services like Netflix as owning. More specifically the recent debacle with Sony removing access to PURCHASED content. I would happily buy my movies and TV shows on something like Google play movies or Apple TV. My issue is I can’t trust any of these corps not to pull the rug out from under me. Their track record says they will. It’s a question of when not if. We need a streaming equivalent of Spotify for TV and movies. Obviously it would be much more expensive than Spotify, but I would happily pay for the convenience of having anything I want as much as I want on one platform/interface. Streaming sucks right now where libraries are spread across platforms with varying interfaces, bitrate etc. shit just sucks lol
