are there any good ones for dyslexics? I hate SwiftKey but have yet to find anything that helps with spelling. I know I can use voice to text but sometimes you don’t want speak to your phone in a crowded place.

Work is Work an it should be safe for everyone. Can you imagine the good they could do if that field expanded to Sex Therapy/Counseling. Where they could really help people with sexual disfunction and self esteem.

Marriage is not a fix for anything it’s just a definition we give for two people that want to hold hands endure life together and I use endure on purpose. Since it’s the good and the bad that comes with it. To many people especially men raised on 1950’s fantasy think marriage is about getting something but really it’s about giving something sometimes everything for your family. So they get mad when both people in the marriage have to work but for some reason they think just because house work was gender coded to be women’s work they expect their wives to do that on top of everything else.

Marriage is no longer man and wife it two partners coming together to face the harsh reality that is our world. That means doing your fair share not being asked to do the damn dishes. Trading back and forth who is going to be the rock and who is going to be the one holding on to the rock. So they don’t get pulled under.

long story short your coworker is a dumbass that just wants things handed to him. Just because he checked a box that said I’m married now. where is my happiness.

Also I have been married for a long time and I will tell you. you go through phases. You will fall in love with your partner then after time you may fall out of love for a bit and then after some more time fall back in love again. But the whole time they are your partner, your family you just can’t imagine them not being their. That’s marriage.

oh it will definitely hurt them long term but shareholders and therefore leadership bonuses only think in terms of quarter by quarter. So any long term sustainably gets thrown out the window. Same goes for energy companies and the planet.

Companies don’t want you to play games already out it’s about controlling what you do play and breaking an old game from running is a feature not a bug. If I could develop a game where customers get nothing and you are required to pay them money. It would be the top funded game by every AAA publisher. Remember the people at the top and especially the shareholders don’t care about games.

They care about money and vendor lock in and planned obsolescence is how they get it. Because enough people have yet to say enough is enough. They do that with Legacy IPs because most people say well I bought the first one I wouldn’t be a real fan if I didn’t buy the next one.

Alaska is a big place with very different climates places like Katchakan and Anchorage are about as different than Norway and Spain. in Anchorage having engine heaters you had to plugin in your car was one of the weird ones. People are inclusive and exclusive at the same time. if you are part of the community. People pull together and your neighbors will share extra salmon they have but if you are an outsider coming in it takes a while before they stop being actively hostile towards you.

yeah sounds like they think you need mentorship and their team can’t provide that more than anything else. You maybe be knowledgeable but how much experience do you have. It’s very different to knowledge from a book than having experience with adapt to changing technology or dealing with stuff you don’t have any knowledge of. I can’t tell you how many people i had to turn down cause they could pass the cert test but could not walk me through how they would troubleshoot a problem. It was more if it’s this than do this and if we tried to go any deeper than that they kinda froze. Anyone with experience will tell you certs are a great start but they are only 1/3 of what you need.

Been using Linux for 25 years so i don’t know if it’s comparable to today but ironically it was setting up game servers for fun. Then i applied for a game sever hosting provider. i think they have mostly died out now. Then just kinda jumped over to web hosting this was before cloud was a thing. Then kinda moved into internal IT running corporate IT. The nice thing being 100% Linux admin i don’t have to mess with AD and FSMO. Even though I know how to i keep quiet about that.

weirdly I’m still a Linux administrator but with way more fun services to maintain.
