I agree on the ads and bundled services, but the “windows is slow” stuff is horseshit. A tight build of Linux boots more quickly no doubt, but a fresh Win10 or 11 install, even with bloat, is up in under 30 seconds, and runs swiftly out of the box. This isn’t “slow” by any definition.

It presents no unique or compelling twist or angle on this in the trailers.
It presents not amazing visual that can only be enjoyed in a theater instead of watching this at home like the History Channel.
I like Kevin Costner, I like westerns, I like history. I pretty much am the target audience. But when I was it was going to be at least 12 hours of content spread over the next 2-3 years, and I still had no hook as to why I should watch this over The Last of the Mohicans or Tombstone or any number of narratives in similar settings. It all feels incredibly low energy.

It’s effectively full ownership, but this same “limited license” model is how they fuck you over digitally, because without the disc, they can, at any time, revoke that limited license legally, because it was limited and they never granted full ownership. This is why the legality of pirating a movie you already own on Blu-ray is morally correct but legally wrong, because your license only grants you that one disc, in that one format.

Like, Gender Dysphoria is a nuanced topic and can be felt in cis people, but there is a strong, STRONG anti-Trans effort to point at that and say “ah hah! See!” as if it somehow invalidates trans experiences.

This is an absurdly oversimplified version of events. The Taliban waged a successful insurgency effort for nearly 2 decades, and remained armed and organized the entire time. The reason they took over after US withdrawl was in no way because they were “what people wanted”. They killed those who opposed them swiftly, and have continued to do so. They took power through swift application of force.
They will never “change their government from within”. The Taliban is not a democracy where you vote on policy. It’s is a religious group and opposition to their policies is handled as opposition to God. You will die.
I understand the tact you were attempting to take here, but the Taliban is not a populist force in the region, at all. There was fairly widespread support (not unanimous) for the changes the US brought, but rebuilding a nation is not simple. Corruption can take decades to expunged. Unfortunately the Taliban returned first and the sitting leadership just rolled over and hoped not to die.

Google search is basically a lock-in service now, which is integrated into a massive browser project, an entire OS used by governments for education, and as the #1 option in competing systems due to sponsorships. Search itself though is awful, and if people were more aware of options maybe we’d see more improvement.
