As a developer: trust me, we don’t want these features either. It’s project managers and clients who force us to do such things.

Same with links that open in new tabs. Except on pages with inputs that you can fill in, I rarely see any justification for those.

As a user, if I want a page to open in a new tab, I press the middle mouse button. If I press the left mouse button, I don’t want a new tab.

I reserve downvotes solely for comments that don’t contribute to the discussion. For example, if my comment said “I like ginger tea with lemons” as a reply to your comment about downvotes, I would downvote it.

I figured out for myself that I need to have a goal when working out.

Instead of aimlessly running on a treadmill, I’d rather go cycling to some nice place with a view.

Instead of lifting weights a number of times, I rather climb up a wall and challenge myself mentally in addition to physically.
