I do wonder what these MAGA nationalists will say once Trump officially partners with Putin. I always think “but they can’t tolerate THAT, right?” But than they prove me wrong with their crazy mental gymnastics

331·11 months agoI am very very very left wing, BUT I can get really annoyed with a lot of those “on my side” advocating for the most idealist of all idealism, as if it’s a contest. Feels like a competition of “who’s the bestest and mostest leftist of all”. You scare people away and - not justifying it - but I get why some people get upset with “the left” because of this…
Slift, they are an amazing experience live! Three guys from France with a live sound that’s just massive. You’d never think it’s just the three of them. Amazing show, lots of energy and the visuals make it a perfect experience. Mind blowing!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is social media ever going to move past politics?English
17·11 months agoPolitics and social media both have a major impact on your life. Imo it’s impossible to disconnect (pun intended) them from each other. Social media is basically the 21st century version of the town square. People talk about politics, that’s just how it is
Online communications for an organisation that focuses on local youths. Everything they organise, do, etc… we offer them a platform and also acts as a link between them and the local politicians. Since we’re an online platform, it’s a very important job (or so it feels) but it’s not always easy to explain. So most of the times I just describe it as: “I post a lot of things on social media and our website as well as writing a newsletter, plus I go to a lot of events”
Trying to ditch all meta/big tech apps, tho, but almost impossible with this job. We rely on Instagram and TikTok a lot (our target audience is 16-30)… That’s definitely a downside. Looking to expand to fediverse as well, but it’s a slow process

71·11 months agoBiggus Dickus, I remember my dad cracking up over it the first time I saw Life of Brian (not his first time, obviously). And now, more than 15 years later we’re still in tears when just mentioning the name or watching the scene for the x’th time
edit: Life of Brian, not Holy Grail… sleep induced brain didn’t work that well anymore

So, everyone who said “no” never learned how to type or what?
