I’m using a mix of Sync and Eternity. I was using Infinity for Reddit before the migration.
Because Sync came first, it’s still my default way to navigate Lemmy but Eternity is slowly growing on me. I prefer to alternate between a few apps to stay up to date on the alternatives, and to ensure I don’t become dependant on a single app/interface.
I’ve also tested a few times Photon, great web UI which can be installed as a PWA.
Everyone should use uBlock + Facebook Container. It’s still far from perfect, but every step counts.
Switching between “Active” and “Top [1h/6h/12h]” at different times of the day has provided me with enough content & interactions to make Lemmy my new home. I always was a lurker on the old site, no comment nor post, not even an account. Now, I’m slowly trying to break from this habit. Being on Lemmy feels like I’m not shouting in the void; when a platform gets too big, you get lost in the crowd. It’s always nice to see recurring usernames on different communities.
They owe you nothing, stop sucking corporations balls. You won’t be compensated for your “efforts”.
Saving this post for later! I got started yesterday with Miniflux and didn’t know where to look for good RSS feeds. Can’t have a better timing than this haha!
I’m halfway through the first Witcher book. After being disappointed with the Netflix show, I had to read the original source. I’m enjoying it so far. My goal is to read them all and play the games afterwards.
I had something similar happen when my Plex server was playing indirectly. It was a port forwarding issue.
It’s always the case of a small group ruining the whole thing for everyone. Identifying and removing big dodgy paid servers would be a good middle ground without punishing the others.
