Totally agree. I am not compatible with summer.

Winter! Winter sports are awesome. Snow is beautiful. Long dark nights are cozy.
Huh. It sounds like TV had it right this time. I assumed smelling salts were a convenient plot device, rather than an actual thing.
Let me guess, the downside is infinite teeth.

I started programming as a teen. I didn’t realize I could do that as a job (weird, I know), so I looked into lucrative careers I could do so I could afford to have lots of free time to program. Then I discovered that programming was also a job.
This is the level of sympathy I have come to expect from the Internet.
You don’t want to run afoul of big slop
Cyberpunk RED TTRPG community.
Shadowrun TTRPG community.
Polandball.
A community for my home town.
A Canadian politics and current affairs community.
A community for some of the podcasts I listen to would be nice.
We have a few of those here, but they aren’t too active and they have a pretty narrow Overton window (ie, I tend to agree with most posts and comments).
I tried posting that kind of stuff. It was thankless. Nobody else started posting. I gave up.
How does the group reach consensus on N?
They have to be actual cross posts though, don’t they? Would that catch the same link spammed across multiple instances and communities?
Older than what? Here are self reported stats from lemmy.ca:
people are still criticizing the Tiananmen Square massacre, and hasn’t anything happened since then? It’s like still making conspiracy theories about Kennedy’s assassination or 9/11, those are old news.
Lemmy skews old. For some of us, those are foundational events in our childhood.
(Kinda joking/kinda serious)
Briar and Futo Voice sound cool.
How do you trigger Futo Voice?
Generation Squeeze is a Canadian organization that advocates for similar changes.
For our first kid we got an audio monitor. After a couple of weeks we sort of stopped using it. With our second kid, we didn’t bother.
I immediately came up with the name “poop wagon shit horse” but nobody wanted to join.
I don’t think software releases indicate the health of the community.
Having said that, I do feel like there are fewer posts and comments. The communities I visit have a handful of users, which makes it a bit claustrophobic.
The small userbase means we don’t get much variety in viewpoints or content, but it’s enough for me.
I’m hanging on because I’m hoping it’ll miraculously start growing. Any day now.
Leave. Go for a walk, or a coffee, or go home. Nobody knows you aren’t in a meeting room.
If your co-workers are into it, have a LAN party. I used to work at a place that had a daily management-approved kill session. It was good.
