Generally anything that comes after a questionmark in a URL can be safely stripped out, though not always. The random string of characters you get after a youtu.be link is tracking, the ?t=123 is a timestamp.
uBlock Origin also has a filter built-in, though you have to enable it. It’s under Filter Lists > Privacy > AdGuard URL Tracking Protection
But you just said
Mozilla could have focused on being user-supported through fundraising like Wikipedia.
It is an option.
Clearly it isn’t working well enough for them.
You can donate to Mozilla.
Perhaps they should’ve put that more front and center. But if they add a prominent donate button the people on here would probably lose their shit too.
Ah, like so. I thought you were referring to the article on the Patreon website with your initial comment, rather than the article in the post itself.
You’re right, the article is wrong. “Gross revenue” makes no sense.
Which is contradictory to the first line of the linked essay.
Is it though?
Current sign-ups are likely through Patreons own payment system, which will stay as it is. It would be like signing up in the web version, then going on to use the iOS app. That wouldn’t suddenly subtract 30% from a payment Apple has no control over.
I think the Halo show could’ve been much more interesting too if they focused on someone not the main character of the games.
But no, gotta keep the most recognizable character

“It” does seem like the way to go here, as it is referring to a built-in “anon” user account (best as I can tell).
How is that ironic?
You didn’t purchase a “HowToGeek” licence, I imagine. Nor was one included with your PC.
Just because you wouldn’t, means people shouldn’t be able to? Like, at all? Do with the device they bought as they wish?
The TPM is a feature of the motherboard, not the CPU (generally).
You can even get separate TPM modules to plug into your MoBo, if I’m not mistaken.
We need to be able to subscribe to playlists.
BoTW-esque game
Sable is really good as well
what makes phones different in that regard?
Corporate greed
It possibly seeing a legal precedent is the scary part.
Edge allows you to “follow” YouTube channels outside of the website itself, not sure how deep that integration goes though as I’ve never bothered to use it.
Also this is the idea behind Grayjay, where creators would be able to have a “universal identity” across platforms.
For now it’s mostly a YouTube and some other video streaming sites alternative.
Yeah. Wanted to recommend Lemmy to a friend, but the few topics they were mainly interested in had little to no engagement.
