Definitely, we use the Imperial system after all.
Definitely, we use the Imperial system after all.
I updated because of the supposed fix for the keyboard lag.
I started with Motorola Atrix, then Motorola Moto X, Samsung S8, S10, Note 10+, and earlier this year got a used iPhone 13 Mini to give it a fair try.
iOS takes more steps to do things that Android can do. It was disappointing coming from the multitasking beast that the Note series is. I miss being able to do scrolling screenshots system-wide, no matter what app. iOS limits it to a few core apps and makes it a PDF… I miss being able to swipe back from either side of the screen. I miss split screen. I miss Samsung’s sandboxed Secure Folder and vastly superior One Handed Mode. I miss a better keyboard experience.
But those are things I gave up for the convenience of a local Apple Store, faster security updates, and being able to troubleshoot iOS better for my partner who’s always used iPhones.
I went almost all in with the 15 Pro; still using my Galaxy buds because they’re comfy. Continuity is nice, already having a MBP and iPad. And I’m having fun messing around with Shortcuts and reading people’s ideas for the action button. It’s not as powerful as Tasker, but that’s only because Apple limits what we can do. Scrolling with 120 Hz is nicer than 60 Hz, comparing the 13 Mini and 15 Pro side by side.
Great take. One of the main reasons I switched to iOS this year after always using Android is Apple’s relatively faster fixes. (Yeah Google is fast with the Pixel, but I’ve got more reasons.)
I don’t blame Apple. I wanted to share this article because some posters who experienced this were lambasted/mocked for claiming their phones overheated.
Dumb idea, reboot the phone and then connect it to the charger.
There’s a trick. First, say Hey Siri play spotify [Playlist name / radio]. Siri will start playing it. Now when you open Shortcuts and search your actions for Spotify, it’ll be listed temporarily. You can then incorporate that into your Shortcut.
Fingers crossed
When a $20 Spigen or ESR beats any Apple case
Planning to make Focus-variable Shortcut. For example, if current Focus is Sleep, then action button toggles bedroom lights. If current Focus is Work, then action button connects to Bluetooth speaker and plays Spotify.
I do full encrypted backups onto local storage, so I appreciate the faster data transfer (which only applies to the 15 Pro/Max right now, not the 15/Plus). My car’s dashcam doesn’t have wifi, so I rely on a microSD reader; transferring videos will be faster.
I already have USB-C to USB-C cables for my MacBook and iPad and previous Samsung devices, so I’m set.
Been seeing some silly sketches about people borrowing chargers from each other.
Oh that detail helps. My partner complained that her 14 Pro was not right: slow while typing in iMessage and FB Messenger. When I tried her phone later I had no issues. I’m going to have to check her Focus and Shortcuts for low power mode.
I think this update fixed Contact posters.
I guess one could switch on low power mode to limit it to 60 Hz. Not very hopeful though because I’ve read of 13/14 Pro users getting crazy lag when on low power.
Yeah I read a thread on Macrumors, and one person described the steps on how they got it to work, but no one could replicate.
The one little syncing that worked for me was that my MacBook account updated with my new contact photo.
Contact Posters aren’t syncing properly and displaying on each other’s phones.
iPadOS is rather half-assed. Smooth, yes, but despite all that processing power it lacks a lot of functionality that you get with a MacBook. It’ll also be way more comfortable typing on a MacBook than the portable keyboard.
Hold up, what Apple Card changes?
Edit: I searched and found out Goldman Sachs wants to end partnership with Apple due to losing money.
Yeah older iPadOS and IOS are a pain and require iTunes. I would try to setup Wine and installed iTunes.
Electric toothbrush. When I don’t have it with me, brushing manually is such a chore. A device performs better than I do and I embrace it.
Prescription glasses. I remember getting to look at a tree with improved sight, and it was wonderful.
Air purifier. Has really helped my allergies.
