Israel is the main reason they’re able to export fascism to the middle east. That’s the reason why they need a genocidal ethnostate.

From his quote, I finally get why the US is so gung-ho about supporting Israel no matter how shitty they act. I don’t agree with him, but I get it, and it explains a lot.

Thanks for the source, but I think it is weird to drop a decades old quote with a recent picture. Especially during the complications of the conflict right now. It feels indigenous without a further context or reason why this is relevant?

Let me be clear that I think the international community should get involved and stop this non-proportional response from Israel (and in any case this never ending conflict) and that the US has a significant leverage over Israel.

How is it irrelevant? His support for Israel has only gotten stronger, the number went up from $3B, to $14B in weaponry to Israel.

I don’t think it’s irrelevant but I do think it’s important to provide context on when the quote was said. Even if his stance hasn’t changed or if it has gotten worse, it should still be noted when he actually said it. While it can’t be ruled out, it’s pretty unlikely he would say that today with current events.

Would you agree that actions speak louder than words? His material support for Palestinian genocide has increased drastically from when he said this quote.

Yes. Again, I am not disagreeing with you. All I’m saying is that when quoting something that was said almost 40 years ago, it’s important to provide context on when it was said to provide readers a frame of reference.

What has changed since then? I’d understand your point completely if Biden was no longer supporting genocide of Palestinians.

When someone is being consistent with something they said years ago, it adds nothing to say, “but context”.

If I posted about how Biden supported racially segregated busing, and was against gay marriage, then you might have a point in claiming context, since the democratic party has opportunistically changed its mind on those.

Joe Biden 30+ years ago: We must support Israel to defend our interests in the ME.

Joe Biden in 2023: We must support Israel to defend our interests in the ME.

                  Liberals: “but context!!!”

Reminds me of an independent running for president, he is also really big in supporting Israel, like the republican ones.

Not to be confused with the other candidates that are calling for peace, 3rd party ones.

Always great when bipartisanship works for endless wars.
