Article about monkeys not being able to complete the works of Shakespeare has this line in it:
Despite its name, the so-called heat death would actually be slow and cold.
Science reporting is such a weird job.

Nordic spas. Going from dry saunas to cold pools to warming up again in hot tubs or wet saunas and doing it over and over again… Ahhhhhhh
Great question and the fairy fountain angle is a neat way of asking it.
Top 6h is king. I do scaled when browsing my subscribed only or local, but I don’t often browse local.
Ugh, notifications to do something are the worst! My notification to pay my credit card comes up and I’m like, just leave me alone already! I’ll do it tomorrow!
Is OpenAI open still?
I used to use Boost for Reddit so I naturally started using Boost for Lemmy when it came out. But for some reason I wasn’t quite satisfied with it.
I’m currently on Thunder and have been liking it a lot. Don’t really hear it talked about much though.
I’ll comment on this later.
The Man Who Knew Too Little
I was playing the 20th anniversary edition recently and they have developer commentary built into the game with little activated speech bubbles spread throughout a few levels. It was neat hearing them talk about how they targeted 20fps from a certain location on the map for a 486 SX 33, so to reach that they deleted a few pixels here and there.
I love that Replaceable Parts is a technology you can research in Civilization. The first time I saw it I thought it was kinda stupid until I thought “Oh wait, does that mean that there was a time when replacement parts just wasn’t a thing?”
I still remember swapping out my 486 SX 33Mhz with a 486 DX 100! I could finally play Duke Nukem 3D properly. Some areas got down to a frame every 2 seconds with the old processor.
Gonna make good use of those 33Mhz!
Sometimes I forget that CPU clock speeds were talked about in Mhz instead of Ghz.
I somehow missed Bad Street Brawler and went for Bad Dudes because I played that one at the arcade. Wasn’t nearly as good as the arcade version though.
The character sprites were 16x24 in combat, so a whole 384 pixels to work with!
Yours doesn’t do that? I thought everybody did that because if you submerge it you can pee really quietly.
This is pretty close too. But he’s jumping not running.
Does it do this better than the spread? I’m trying to think of what part of the game this advice would work…
I love dwarves too. If I had to pick another race it would be the Nac Mac Feegle from Discworld.
I couldn’t even understand the text I was reading at first when they talked, but once I figured out the accent I loved reading them. Plus the only thing they’re afraid of is lawyers.
Found the Russian. Do any other cultures use that word instead of astronaut?
