I was so pumped to see them in concert. Unfortunately, Matt Tong (their drummer) suffered a collapsed lung when opening for Panic! At the Disco. The show was going to be Bloc Party, Jacks Mannequin, Panic! At the Disco. I was really excited to see Bloc Party & Jacks and Panic! wasn’t a bad option to see too (though their sound mixer was awful and it sounded like shit). Instead of Bloc Party, we got Plain White Tees. Just a brutal replacement.
I don’t have access to my music torrent site anymore due to the first one shutting down (W.CD) and then going idle on the other one for years. Don’t feel like re-downloading everything either since I lost all my music in a hard drive crash. Could probably recover it from my Cowon X7 but don’t know where the cable is for that anymore.
I find this to be an option with Movies/TV Shows but a struggle with Music. At least once my kids were older and listening to stuff. They were constantly asking for stuff to be downloaded, my mom and wife were asking for stuff, my brother, etc. Had a subsonic server set up and just got tired of actively managing it. Spotify isn’t great but it works and it saves a headache. I just wish there was better options because I don’t like the Spotify app. YouTube Music is even worse, especially since it subscribes to everything on YouTube too so all my subscriptions got jacked up.
I’m with you especially since what I use Reddit/Twitter for the most is sports highlight clips/discussion during games. Those communities just aren’t here. I love chatting with other Orioles/Panthers/Penguins fans in the game threads on Reddit during the game since none of my friends are fans of those teams other than my brother being a Penguins fan too.
Luckily a lot of the Twitter follows I had which were mainly for College Football are on Bluesky so I can use that more but missing out on the rest here. Once Boost for Reddit stops working (still works if you mod a sub) I won’t be using Reddit anymore though. The official app is that bad.

It’s fine if you never leave Calc. If you’re trying to use Calc at home and Excel at work, it’s absolutely awful. Key bindings aren’t the same. Basic things like auto completing formulas is different. It’s terrible to flip between the two.
I’m not usually doing any filtering of information. I’m doing calculation based analysis on tax returns for commercial loan underwriting.
I need spreadsheets for work in commercial loan underwriting. We don’t have a commercial underwriting system yet so all our templates are excel based. I waited to move to Linux solely because of Excel when working from home. During COVID though my work finally gave everyone laptops so I didn’t need to do work on my personal rig anymore.
Excel. There’s just basic stuff with LibreOffice and OnlyOffice that work like crap. Like why in LibreOffice when I type =sum then hit tab does it think I’m done with the formula instead of adding the ( and letting me put in the first input. It’s awful.
I have worked for the last 6.5 years at a faith based credit union ($400MM in size) despite being an atheist. All of our meetings start with a prayer. They have been good up until recently where we’ve done more and more investment real estate lending and that doesn’t sit well with me with our housing crisis in the US. Have a 3rd interview with a regional bank ($14Bn in size) to move to more C&I and CRE loans instead of single family homes. I know they are still involved in it but I’m not going to be the one writing loans on investment properties. They also do a lot of affordable housing lending and community reinvestment in distressed areas.
Old Spice makes a bald care wash. I really enjoy it. Exfoliates nicely, smells really good, and moisturizes.

I’m really enjoying BlueSky. The only problem with it right now is just not having all the people I followed from Twitter/X on there especially official accounts for sports teams that I followed for news/content. It’s getting there though.
I saw some people recommend Brave and tried it out. What is with all the crypto integrations in that. Ditched Chrome earlier this year for Firefox when I made the switch from Windows to Linux.
The infuriating part is people denying the change is happening. I could at least hear an argument on whether or not you think it is due to human involvement and what we could do to stop it (I’d still think you’re wrong). But to deny the existence of climate change is asinine.
Yeah I get mine from a site called 32 degrees. I’ve seen some of their stuff sold in Costco as well. But their stretch woven pants are only $20. I have 3 pairs of them that I’ve worn everyday for work for the past couple years. Had a couple buttons pop off but just slapped a new one on. No issues with them at all and I’m a bigger guy at 6’3" 290 lbs. They have good basic polos too (though the collars leave something to be desired).
Absolutely. Dri fit polos and golf pants. Everyday for work and it’s super comfortable. Don’t even need to spend a ton on the pants either. Mine are $20 a pair.
I think people just don’t have decent pants. I just wear golf pants everyday and they’re super comfortable. They’re light, they stretch and move with you, and they’re super comfortable. Granted I would rather wear shorts over pants especially when it’s in the 90s but I’ve never thought my pants weren’t comfortable. You can get some pants for cheap that are better than what most people are wearing every day. $20 per pair for some comfortable pants.
Commercial Real Estate Lending - Portfolio Management. I monitor loans for losses and collect periodic financial statements. I hate it. I used to do business loan underwriting and trying to get back into that. Had a dream job lined up but ended up failing the background check because of a bankruptcy 6 years ago.
