The reason behind this is not a bug but a feature. Google wants the trip from search to result to take longer as they can show you more ads that way.

With this comment it’s clear that you are lamenting userbase count, and thus “Lemmy” (there is no singular Lemmy) isn’t meeting the content expectations you built with reddit due to this far lower user count.
Be the change you want to see, set up an instance and craft it to this concept you’re after. If not, Mastodon exists as the comment you replied to mentioned.

No it doesn’t sound bad, words don’t need to be thrown away forever just because they’ve been used to describe unfair treatment. I’m so sick of having to relabel so many things that are so far divorced from the social issues they are used to describe. It’s so pointless and has no impact, the code doesn’t care which is master and which is the slave for they are simply descriptive labels.

The Florida Board of Education approved new social studies standards July 19 following a law passed by the legislature in 2022, known as “Stop Wrongs Against Our Kids and Employees Act” or the “Stop W.O.K.E. Act.”
The law bans workplaces and schools from teaching that anyone must feel guilt based on their race as a result of actions by others in the past. Earlier this year, Florida rejected a new high school Advanced Placement course on Black studies.
The 216-page standards document covers a broad sweep of Black history, along with topics such as the Holocaust, world history and geography. It includes different standards for elementary, middle and high school students.
The part of Florida’s new standards that Harris was citing is for grades six through eight. It says:
“Examine the various duties and trades performed by slaves (e.g., agricultural work, painting, carpentry, tailoring, domestic service, blacksmithing, transportation).”
The controversial part is in this “benchmark clarification” about slave labor: “Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”

Fuck Mr. Beast, he literally preys on children by falsely framing his videos all as possibilities for them if they subscribe to the channel. He shills things like chocolate bars that are healthy to defeat obesity yet those same bars have twice the sugar than others like hershey bars. He gets kids to buy his shit on the guise of ‘oh maybe we’ll slip something in your order box! Maybe an iphone!!!’ and now you have kids stumbling over themselves to beg their parents to buy Mr. Beast merch / mr. beast burger / mr. beast feastables / etc.
He’s not a terrible person but this shit is gross, a lot of it is gambling-adjacent and the kids EAT IT THE FUCK UP. Yeah Mr. Beast is a businessman, but his business is manipulating children.

Nobody should give a fuck about how it fEeLs. Elections are verifiable and essential. You cry about the electoral college and yet don’t vote which gives said EC even more of an advantage.
