If Spider-Man was invented today he’d be considered a self insert. Jaded nerd gets super powers and constantly inner monologues he could beat up his bully

People tried to block the Activision acquisition. Some were mocked for their attempt and some were mocked for their stance. It wasn’t enforced because for all the attempts, it couldn’t be proved which is more an indicator better definitions needed to be in place
I think it depends on the context. Calling me a full stack is an acknowledgement that I can work on every step of the system and usually every part of the system. I don’t consider it to mean equally good.
However if it keeps getting brought up when I am not supposed to be working on those other steps, that signals to me that maybe they are trying to push more work into me that I shouldn’t be do.
I can appreciate that when someone says “Our X Expert”. It definitely feels like more praise and more value.
Probably one of the harder things that I could do. It’s a replacement for TV so I could try and slot in TV but I think it would be frustrating to not have the copious amounts of content
I came to post always eating breakfast. I prepare overnight oats and eat it when I wake up and its helped a lot with concentration. There’s definitely something to be said about a lot of marketed greasy or sugary breakfasts
All those random scraps of metal you find lying are just the end result of someone trying to travel back in time and the time machine not surviving
Gameboy SP plays GB, GBC and GBA games with a backlight in the screen. If that’s not enough, there are plenty of videos online on how to upgrade the SP. Authentic but optimized. Best of both worlds!
Clique culture in small companies is pretty common. It might not be boys club but there’s no middle man to protect Devs from those in charge so there’s always going to be pressure to hang out if everyone is or to work overtime. You have to work in that clique culture but you don’t have to always say yes as long as you are friendly about it. The phrase “being firm” has never sat right with me for these as it’s the antithesis of friendliness you can be loose and say no and if it’s brought up again stay loose and continue to say no. You don’t need an excuse but a loose excuse is works well.
Security is obviously always scary but the tech landscape does not really have that anyway. Realistically if the only worry is it’s a small company and everything else is good, take it. If you find that you don’t fit into the small team flow, then you can continue looking in the future.
Gotta be Vivi. Just a loveable guy
A day with no plans where I’m not thinking about the end of my days off. You don’t get it with a week off. Every day you have a thought about how many days left but two week on Wednesday. You’ve done what you want the weekend is still far away and you know the next week I’d more time. Bliss, no need to worry about utilising your time off. Just pure impulse.
Some things:
(a) Retro gaming is an extremely wide at this point. It houses multiple generations if extreme upgrades from PS2 to Spectrum. The further back you go the more restricted it becomes. So if you want to get into retro, I think it might be good to move backwards to gain a tolerance. As you go back QoL will slowly get worse as we’ve built upon them over the years.
(b) Gateway games are difficult because for me a gateway is a way to gain interest, it was never just picking the best of the old games. When Megaman 9 came out it was good enough that I went back and started playing the old games. Because I enjoyed it and it emulated the originals. If there are some retro-inspired games you enjoy, going back to the games that inspired it is a good gateway (for me anyway)
© I’m not sure how this feed feels about it but feel free to use save states. Arcade difficulty is real and sometimes saving can be complicated. Just remember that they exist when considering an opinion. Your feelings on contra may vary depending on if you use save states to beat it.
So if N64 is your “modern” retro I’d probably recommend Mario 64, Ocarina of Time (slow start be aware), Kirby 64 and Paper Mario. From there if you like Mario 64 and Want another Banjo.
I think SNES JRPG is a bit tricky. I don’t really remember my avenue into it. I believe it was GBA and DS JRPG that gave me a tolerance for more simple combat systems.
The injury was unrelated to the weights themselves. It was a lack of understanding of how to correctly do lunges. But I appreciate the advice.
Just in case someone else is in the same position. Do not think of it as pushing your knees to 90 degrees. Get in position, loosen your knees and focus on moving your hips down. It’s the same principles as squatting but in a different position
Extremely mixed. Last year my mental health was probably at its lowest after realising how bad my health was (weight and muscle atrophy from becoming a hermit in COVID times). I did a lot of work and I was finally able to go on walks daily without being exhausted and that felt really good. This in turn gave me more energy in the day and that also felt really good.
Also started doing weights. That didn’t feel as good. Making progress was nice but I was basically always in pain or aching, and when I wasn’t, it meant it was time to work out again. After exercising and the muscles were popped, it felt really good but that subsides. And seeing muscles like that start bringing out the body dysmorphia badly. It was the best Ive ever looked and it made me feel awful. Then I injured myself and it got it was even worse.
Tl:Dr light cardio yes, weightlifting not really
I’ve got a game in a pile of about 100 sandwiched in between some penny priced games that is worth $500. I’m not creating a shrine for it. Just putting in with the rest of the group.
A loud minority of Texans call for Independence, which is not really possible as far as I know
I’m a history illiterate so maybe I’m wrong but I’m sure lots of countries thought that before an insurrection. Not that I think Texas would rebel but literally why couldn’t they?
It suggests they can’t afford to pay rent. It’s an old stereotype that is kind of redundant nowadays since (a) most people renting can’t afford it anymore and (b) different cultures are way more accepting and even encouraged living with your family. Most people understand that now.
You still here the saying buts it’s more about NEETs taking advantage of family rather than being smart
Video games are so much more my hobby then anything else, any other one feels kind of fake. Unfortunately calling myself a gamer is basically a red flag, so i avoid it at all costs
In the comics he tries to sell the compound and no one wants it iirc due to its lifespan. Stupid but at least it’s brought up
Im discussing this from the perspective of office which I imagine is very different from some other jobs. I consider this saying of thinking as one of neutrality rather then attempting to actively get somewhere.
When I am immune to the thoughts of questioning my finances
