  • I guess there is no need for further commentary on why the strict moderation of a “safe space”/walled garden cannot keep up with the growth of such an open space as activitypub.

So in response to the title, I would think this is fantastic news! You say your principle is “be nice”, which I think is great and I wish it was the general norm, but from what I’ve seen and heard it would be more like “you better think like us, because we aggressively enforce political correctness and ideological censorship”. It would be a pity to lose its users, but I simply hate to end up on beehaw by mistake and would be happier to see it disappear.

  • This will be somewhat long and tedious, I will try to explain it from memory because I don’t want to dedicate the absurd amount of hours it requires. Maybe I’m missing or I’m wrong about something, if that’s the case please just talk about it.

That video has been extensively analyzed by expert witnesses and they make it clear that this “head grab” was not forced. It should also be noted that a few seconds before that she hugged/grabbed him against him and practically lifted him in the air, so she was not exactly defenseless. Nor did it catch her by surprise, because he verbally and unequivocally asked for consent (there is no evidence of what she answers, but it is obvious that if it were “no” she would not act as she will later), which not only the expert witnesses made clear, but she herself has acknowledged. Moreover, this is an (absurd) tradition, there is nothing to suggest that it was sexual in any way.

The event had a specialized team to detect cases of “gender violence”, one of their members was nearby and immediately asked her, and she declared that everything was fine. Later they did a full investigation, they also asked her and the others again, and again everything was fine.

Then in the locker rooms you mention and other places, there are some moments when she talks about what happened, she mentions that she “didn’t like it” but it can be understood that she doesn’t like him in a romantic/sexual way, because she always does it with a clear joking tone. That becomes much clearer later because she herself also shows that video to her friends and laughing about it. There is even a scene in a bus where all the players cheer for rubiales, evidencing the closeness he had with the team and the “victim” (hence her surprise hug/grabbing him before the kiss, and the kiss itself).

At this point everything is fine, until the “minister of equality” (equality in orwell scale) pointed it out as “gender violence” and from here everything becomes quite chaotic, so following the story is a headache. Let’s sum it up in that the “victim” started out mildly supportive of rubiales, then spent quite some time refusing to speak out or get involved, and finally was moving to condemn the acts; with some contradictions and lies being disproven, in my opinion she seems to want to attack the organization more than rubiales.

    PS: Still too long, sorry.
