I knew a drug dealer back in the day, he was dealing a lot, I was always amazed he didn’t get busted. He drove a pimped out car with a badass system in it, rims, tinted windows, and lowered. A bunch of police officers would hang out where I worked (an auto shop) and dude would drive by and the cops all said they KNOW he’s dealing they just can’t bust him, every time they stop him, he’s clean. I told him about it and he said "Pfft those idiots think I’m dumb enough to deal in this??? Shit, I have a normal car in a rented for cash garage across town I use.

It was plain jane as it gets, not trashed, and not clean. He’d put some shit in it from his mom, some work cloths, and a worn out pair of boots I’m pretty sure he got from somebody else.

I switched from PopOs to Nobara, and it worked great but after a while my sound quit and I missed how switching workspaces worked in PopOs. I tried Mint and surprisingly I had a hell of time trying to get gaming working like it did, so I back to PopOs and I have zero complaints. Everything just works. I have a bunch of games that say no on the steam deck but they work great. I’ve been told the kernal is outdated but honestly, I don’t care, everything works. In my household we have 5 pc’s. My wifes is the only one left on Windows and she has more issues than me.

They still get loose and troll .world while the mods there give them free reign and ban you if you report them for trolling. You can’t call them trolls, but they can call you a troll.

I blocked hexbear a long time ago, it’s a right wing cesspool, I ditched .ml last week because of the trolls and tankies. It’s too bad mods don’t go after the obvious trolls/bots.

Careful with that troll word, there are mods that will ban you for saying it. They tell you to report trolls to them, so I did (a very obvious troll) and I got banned. Pretty neat you can’t appeal, and you can’t find out which mod did it either.

We will not be removing Rooki from his position as moderator, as we believe that this is a disproportionate response for a heat-of-the-moment response.

Everybody makes mistakes, and while we do try and hold the site admin staff to a higher standard, calling for folks resignation from volunteer positions over it would not fair to them. Rooki has given up 100’s of hours of his free time to help both Lemmy.World, FHF and the Fediverse as a whole grown in far reaching ways. You don’t immediately fire your staff when they make a bad judgment call.

But banning users for calling out obvious trolls is ok. This is bullshit really. The mods have been going so hard on here it makes this place less and less appealing.

I think a better one is if anyone remembers the internet before the Russian trolls/bot farms invaded all the social media sites. You wouldn’t hear about Dementia DonOLD because at this point he’d be irrelevant or in jail.
