When I first got on Lemmy I signed up for a small instance my friend was on. Mostly ended up lurking. Before ditching that account, because I forgot the password, and was looking to go to a different instance anyway, I looked up what instances had the most federations. world had a lot, and no hexbear. It also has a old style interface, and blocks NSFW content, so I can more safely browse in public/at work. So I switched to it with my main and then separately logged into places with open NSFW content.

Not my favorate to watch, but the one I prefer to recomend.

I happened to live near there for a couple years. When I went online, to see if I could show some proof of the things I witnessed there, to friends not from there, this documentary came up. Though it takes place like 15ish years before I was there, it still was a good overview of my experience there. Basically the documentarian went there to make a film about the very high rate of lost limbs there, and ended up just showcasing the strange white-trashness of the place.

This documentary is way under appreciated. I highly suggest it.

In some places they still make sense. In a place where one can be built relatively close to a number of well off suburbs, while being closer than more urban area commercial districts, malls are still doing alright. The hey day of malls being in every suburb is dead though.

Once I heard that the people who made mastodon had also made a federated version of reddit, I started hanging out here. I lurked for months, then posted a few times through, i think, 5 accounts. Now I am only really on Lemmy.

Is it great? no, a lot of the problem with social media is the people. Is it a better design than places like reddit and twitter? Definitely. So I am here.

What are you talking about? Land taxes were one of, if not the, most important tax group in medieval times.

A way I have found to explain federated social media to people, that seems to work is this: Imagine reddit, but instead of one company, with one administration, owning the whole site, it is a bunch of different reddits, that are independently run, that choose which other reddits they wish to associate themselves with. When you log into one instance, you automatically can see, and interact with, all the other ones that one chooses to associate with. You can have accounts on as many instances as you would like, even having accounts on instances that do no associate with each other.

Well firing them into the sun is extremely difficult, and resource intensive. Sending them on a one way trip to Somalia isn’t. There are plenty people who are far more radicalized than them there as it is. So they can go be radicals in Somalia, where they have no influence, power, protection, and most will hate them as a default. They will most likely just never be heard from again.

Send them to Somalia, where they can experience a truly small government country with very conservative social views.

Yeah I have looked myself. With how little they have out there I wouldn’t be surprised is their ES contract does not allow them to have any independent audience interaction. I mean there doesn’t even seem to be a source saying the names of the musicians.

This is probably super obvious, and you already tried, but I have to ask, Is there any way to contact them outside of ES? Does Wanderer’s Trove have a site, social media, etc.? If so, do they post any contact information like e-mail? If you get ahold of them directly they will be able to direct you to where you can buy their stuff without a third party if there is one.

When I was young I knew a bunch of people who went into this program. It is under funded, relies on methodology that is known to not work, nothing changes about this because of the outside interests that influence it. Many of the people in it are people who were pushed there due to behavioral problems. These people need psych therapy, not a bare-bones vocational camp.

None of the people I know who went in, or any of the people they knew in it, left and found work faster without them.

The beauty of lemmy is that it is not centralized. You do not need to log into any instance they have that type of control of. You can create your own instance of lemmy as well.

if you are discussing short-term survive-ability, while waiting for rescue, then eating pickles is better than nothing. They will provide water, vitamins, electrolytes, etc. If you are discussing living off of pickles as a lifestyle, or prolonged diet option, then it isn’t enough.

Yeah everything I can find on the subject shows that dehydration is just one of the many factors in a hangover, and isn’t the main one. The primary cause seems to be an immune system response that we do not understand, caused by factors, other than you drank alcohol, we do not know.
