I also wish we could have more wildlife sanctuaries without the power plants basically forcing them into existence, but I guess I’m at the point where I’ll take what we can get. However, I shouldn’t forget that we can do better too.

Hopefully we as a species can figure out our energy problems globally… and work together on it instead of fighting each other over which one is best.

What’s your opinion on smaller scale power plants? It seems like a decent way to cut the costs and still get that extra power in those seasonal low power periods. Or do you think it’s not worth pursuing at all?

I’m in the US which is quite large. I’ve always thought small scale power plants in conjunction with solar and wind would be good.

Especially since a lot of states turn the land surrounding the power plant into wildlife sanctuaries since nothing can be built in the safety zone anyway.

I honestly wish I could block trump like in black mirror. So whenever his face comes up on my screen it’s automatically blurred. His voice gets a long “bleeeep” for however long he’s talking. That’d make me happy. I’m sick of seeing his ugly mug and hearing his shitty words everywhere.

I havent seen anyone mention this, but cucumbers have little sharp spikes/spines on their skin so that’d be a huge no for the vast majority of people, and those little spikes would probably rip any condom stretched over it.

Very few people are gonna be into fucking themselves with something that’s got tiny thorns on it…unless they go out of their way to remove them without peeling it entirely I guess.

Tbh this is one is a little personally motivated.

I watched a very smart person I worked for get sucked into an MLM and it was disturbingly cult like the way it played out. One day literally everything about was this Lev-el Thrive vitamin shit. Which around $300 a month to take caffeine laced vitamins with willow bark. Which they were told was safe for everyone by the company… but willow bark is more or less asprin. People with heart issues shouldn’t be taking that shit.

I used to think only stupid people fell for mlms, but my previous boss successfully ran a business for around 15 years(the one I was employed at). I had to leave that job because my boss couldn’t pay me anymore. All their money went into this ‘side business’ that the company kept saying they’d make it back. They did not.

That whole experience was like a fever dream to me. It felt like my boss had been body snatched by some mlm greed demon, and ever since i just see mlms as culty life ruiners that should be illegal.

MlM’s. They’re predatory.

It probably has more to do with the fact that when a researcher or scientist discovers a new species they get to name it.

So if they start changing the names of things it’s basically taking that away from them and stepping on a lot of people’s toes.

Honestly I kinda get it. Getting to name a species is a reward for years of hard work. I’d be pissed if people could change the names of stuff I worked hard to discover. Then again I wouldn’t name them after genocidal assholes or racist bullshit so there wouldn’t be that problem to begin with.

I had my last phone so long(about 5-6 years I think) that I was forced to get a new one because it was no longer supported.

I know they have to have a cut off somewhere, but around 5 years doesn’t seem like that long for a device. Maybe I’m just getting old, or planned obsolescence or something.

But yes, having that phone for a longtime prevented ewaste and saved me quite a bit of money. Be nice to your phone and it’ll go longer than the company supports it.

It’s okay, that’s how I feel about the monster hunter games. Just couldn’t get into them. I also found the weird dimorphism that the monster hunter armor had off putting. I wanted my woman character to have real armor, not a bikini. I get some people like that, but it wasn’t for me.

The chess one isnt quite right. There’s been experiments where if a woman player didn’t know her opponent was a man she would perform better. It’s called stereotype threat phenomenon.

It also happens when a male player knowingly goes up against someone higher in the league than himself and he performs below his own standard average.

Basically people in general psyche themselves out of their best performance when going against someone they perceive to be better than them whether that’s factual or not. Confidence and undermining confidence can change a whole lot about how a person does in any given game or task.

People go absolutely insane over weird stuff, especially food related topics. It’s weird how much folks stress themselves out over what others are eating/not eating/how their eating it.

Unfortunately dangerous men don’t wear signs around their necks. They just look like normal dudes. It’s the false positive vs false negative. A false positive results in the woman walking away and maybe an awkward moment between two people. A false negative can result in being raped and/or murdered. That’s really what it boils down to. Women just want to stay safe.
