  • Talk about putting the cart before the fucking horse.

Calling them “cognitive amplifier tools” doesn’t make them “cognitive amplifier tools”. They’ve yet to show that they do anything of the sort.

Spitting out some basic code that probably has to be edited anyway is not a “cognitive amplifier tool”.

Generating smooth skinned avatars with questionable anatomy is not a “cognitive amplifier tool”.

Writing creepy, repetitive prose is not a “cognitive amplifier tool”.

Hell, the term “cognitive amplifier tool” is just nonsense anyway. For fuck’s sake, I hate these people.

  • They don’t pay 38$ for just iCloud storage.

If they’re paying that much they likely have Apple One highest tier which includes AppleTV, Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple News+, and Apple Arcade in addition to the iCloud storage at 2TB.

If they only need iCloud storage and don’t need any of those other services, you should just move them to a lower iCloud account that is enough storage for them. It will be affordable and simpler.

That doesn’t take into account whether you need Windows specific software—mostly games and some technical, industry specific software. Sometimes Wine/Crossover or virtualization is an option.

That said, balance your necessities, your emergency fund, your retirement fund. If those are reasonably covered, you’re in the position for a big spend especially on something durable that also makes life easier.
