I went for a routine dental cleaning today and my dentist integrated a specialized AI tool to help identify cavities and estimate the progress of decay. Comparing my x-rays between the raw image and the overlay from the AI, we saw a total of 5 cavities. Without the AI, my dentist would have wanted to fill all of them. With the AI, it was narrowed down to 2 that need attention, and the others are early enough that they can be maintained.

I’m all for these types of specialized AIs, and hope to see even further advances in the future.

Costco’s optometrist said they couldn’t buff out the scratches on mine since they don’t actually use glass anymore. They use polycarbonate lenses which are strong and won’t shatter if broken (I’ve definitely tested this on accident…)

You can play any games you want, though? Throw an emulator on there and play all your old games. Install non-steam games, add them to Steam using its very easy to use “Add a non-Steam game” button, and play as normal.

Heck, if you don’t like Linux you can just install Windows on the thing.

Steam takes a lot of money and then turns around and invests it into the gaming community.

I’ve also got an Oral B Pro, I think. Not at home to check the exact model. I’ve been very happy with it as well! It has smart features but it doesn’t require you to use them to use the toothbrush as normal

It’d be cheaper, sure. But that assumes anyone actually wants to run things locally. My VP is an elderly woman who would love to get off the Board as well. We just don’t have volunteers to run things. I joined up so our HOA didn’t get handed to a lawyer to run, which would cost even more.

Prior to having a management company, the HOA treasurer embezzled about $40,000. It’s the reason they got the management company in the first place.

Getting out of it is the hardest part for us right now.

We’re in a small 28 unit condominium, so our dues go towards insurance for all buildings (only exterior, have to have our own for studs in), water, lawn service, management company, etc. Our dues are almost $400/month.

Yes, per month. It absolutely blows, especially when we’re trying to sell our unit and it’s been on the market for almost half a year.

I’m the HOA president so I know what all our expenses are (and have fought to keep increases to a minimum, including negotiating the community water bill with the water company), and unless we kick out the management company (Not going to happen) the dues are just going to stay high. We’re preparing to refuse an increase for the next year.

It’s a pretty good introduction for those who don’t care for swearing and sexual jokes. Better than Apples to Apples, I’d say. Could use room for improvement, I’ve been meaning to put together a combination of the full game and expansions that my whole family can play

I’d love to be on a GLP-1 (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc). I’ve had Wegovy prescribed, but my plan excludes it and the others unless you have diabetes.

It’s definitely one of the current “trendy” prescriptions in the USA right now, which I hate since a lot of people are using them as “get thin quick” hacks that will fix their life. Being a 300lb guy without diabetes where general diet and exercise aren’t dropping the pounds, my prescriber said I’d be a perfect candidate for it.

Same, been using it long before it was bought by Microsoft. It has customizations I like, and (when it works properly) I can copy and paste between my phone and computer.

It’s hard to be non-biased. There’s not a single person who does not have a bias of some sort. The way people get bent out of shape over the bot makes me sad. It gives a decent starting point for anyone looking to start learning about the different biases and how different outlets report information. Of course it’s not a perfect bot or website it’s getting the info from, but it’s a valuable tool.

I did block it myself though. Sync gives large previews of links, so it did get a bit spammy. This could be disabled in the app’s settings, but it’s a feature I like so I can easily get to linked articles or videos. Wish I could turn it off for bots
