The comments are funny but if you read the article he just did it for the bit. Apparently he changed quite a bit over that time and regretted being an angry forum nerd, so he thought it would be funny to do one last post and abandon the account.
Just a silly feller

TIL, thanks for the informative comment!
There’s one guy in my little group of friends who is an unapologetic hugger, even though the rest of us don’t really hug he’ll always hug everyone goodbye. I’d say it’s possible some guys don’t enjoy it, but I actually really appreciate it about him, it’s nice getting a hug and sometimes I really need one.
For anyone who really doesn’t like it they can always offer their hand first, but on behalf of all the guys who need a little affection from their buds sometimes I wanna say thanks for being there for the friends who need it. Even if they never say so I’m sure some of them appreciate it.
After a few sheers they’re off to the slaughterhouse once the wool quality degrades. The sheering is not for their benefit.
That is awesome, nice work.
I can respect that. I was once where you are and one day I just decided I couldn’t justify it anymore. Now I only eat sticks and moss.
But if you wanna try making some vegan food my advice is just don’t overthink it, make some pasta and just pan fry some veggies you like and mix 'em through with some olive oil. It’s always a tasty time.
That’s probably smart. Even with important things I don’t think online arguments have ever swayed anyone. I like being an annoying vegan and arguing about it occasionally, but sometimes it’s just frustrating and I have to disconnect for a while.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the album Medulla by Bjork. If I’m not mistaken it was made entirely with mouth sounds. Has a really unique feeling to it.
Yeah, so much US content gets geoblocked here. It’s super weird, just a random clip from a show on youtube? woops, looks like that content isn’t available in your country.
I’ve been registered for a while now. I really don’t see a good reason not to, they only take 'em if I’m dead and what good are they to me then? Better going to someone in need.
I’m glad that nowadays we mistreat animals and let them live horrific lives in their own waste in a way that doesn’t kill human babies specifically.
So many posts perfectly summarising why I’ve always preferred the reddit format over twitter. On one you follow topics, on the other you follow people. I prefer to hear a wide range of views on one topic rather than one persons views on different topics.
it may be hard to believe but womens rights have been progressing steadily. link
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a long long way to go, but I’m glad they at least seem to be heading in a positive direction.
I could be wrong but I thought this was also how UBI would be implemented? It would just be a safety net for those without employment?
Edit: I just googled it and I am indeed wrong. What I was thinking of is called a guaranteed minimum income. That makes a bit more sense to me than a UBI, but if it wasn’t apparent I’m obviously not well read on the topics.
I love emojis even though I don’t use them much. I just think it’s really cool that this idea emerged and everyone got on board and now it’s almost like a whole universal language - modern hieroglyphics or whatever else you want to call it. Plus they’re just kinda fun and sometimes it’s easier to convey a reaction with a specific smiley than it is with words. Language, however beautiful and elegant, is still sometimes wanting, you know?
One of my favourite anecdotes is that the agency stole the music in that ad. After a lot of effort the guy that made it finally got them to pay royalties.
As a man… that sounds about right lol. I was watching a show and then realised if I wanted the later seasons I’d have to subscribe to a different service and I took that personally and got annoyed and now I just pirate stuff. No one tells this manly feller what to do.
I was talking about this with a friend just the other night. A lot of those services can actually be helpful. The problem is they’re so often predatory and just target people with the idea that they can buy things they can’t afford.
I’ve never been an incel but I’ve always sympathised because I feel like I easily could have become one. Seeing a therapist and learning the basics of Cognitive Bias Therapy is what I attribute to helping me out of a lot of those ‘thought loops’.
It’s nice hearing stories about people who’ve escaped it.
