I’m a filthy fucking socialist.
A classics professor goes to a tailor to get his trousers mended.
The tailor asks: “Euripides?”
The professor replies: “Yes. Eumenides?”
He’s teriyaki flavored!
It’s likely possible, but not at this stage of humanity. The human genome was only unlocked in the past few decades.
Gotta remember, the body of science of any field is still itself growing. More information becomes clear all the time. What was once considered impossible is now everyday boring stuff.
There are limitations to what we can do, and what we know we can do. It isn’t until we test more and try different things and unlock new technologies that the impossible becomes possible.
I mean, it’s basically arguing semantics, which was my point. Temperature, sediment, etc. transfer will still occur, and erosion will happen. It would just happen at different time scales.
Continents and the surface are just areas of the planet that don’t have water covering them up.
If Earth’s oceans rose only a few miles up, it would be a water planet, but these things would still exist. Including plate tectonics and the circulation of magma / molten core.
Water circulates due to pressure, temperature, and impurities, each having their own positive feedback loop into the system before it finds a balance.
Punishment. They aren’t against abortion, they’re pro punishment. They don’t think any laws should be about mitigation or helping, only as a means of punishing.
It’s in how they talk: “she should have kept her legs closed”; “that’s what you get for being a slut”; “if you don’t want to have a baby, don’t have sex”. The pregnancy is a punishment for anyone who wants to have sex, but doesn’t want to have children. And jail or death is the punishment for avoiding that previous punishment.
When talking about gun control, too: “why should I - a law abiding citizen - be punished for the actions of a few criminals?”; “ShAlL noT bE INfrInGeD”. They don’t want laws to do anything but punish. Mitigation? Expansion of freedoms of “them”? No.
Look at voter ID laws: they’re restrictive to our freedom, but proposed as punishment for “fraud”.
And it often stems from an individualistic and Evangelical ideal. Everyone is “responsible” for their actions. There are no systemic issues in the mind of an evangelical. God is punishing the individual. The laws are punishing the individual. We don’t need to change, because we includes I, and I don’t need to change, because “I’m a good Christian warrior in the fight against evil”.
And evangelicals definitely think there is a spiritual war going on, so punishment of the “wicked” is always an option. Because being wicked is an individual issue.
(Also why they think drug addiction is a moral failing of the individual, not a societal one, and therefore they should be punished).
Right now, evangelicalism and their Christofascist views are moving into political positions of power. They have tons of money coming in, and even if Fuckface 45 (their evangelical God-king warrior) doesn’t get into office, they’ll still continue to influence policy and grab seats of power.
We need to be aware of them, and stop them at every pass.
Kitty! 🥰🥰🥰
So what is their mainstream? You like it for the style right?
Right?

This is all that’s necessary.
At least 4 years. I was using a flip phone until around 2010, and that’s how I normally use Twitter when I wasn’t at a computer.
Not really. It was fun to talk to people that you barely knew. It was kinda like a hybrid of a chatroom and a forum.
But it grew to become shit.
Those groups were only “white” when “colored” people became the scapegoat. White supremacists still continue to shift the spectrum to treat their own better than “the other”.
Which in of itself is actually the real issue. People with more power and weapons and had “god” on their side, made up the idea of whiteness, and then created an “other” that gave them carte blanche to suppress that group.
Pseudoscience helped reinforce this “authority”, and it still exists to this day.
Remember folks, race isn’t real. Europeans made it up.
It’s a good rule of thumb, but it’s not a requirement.
