Honestly, kinda. Alcohol kills too many people, both self-harm and other people when operating vehicles.

I’m on your side, personally. It’s not always possible for a person to be fully informed of the effects of habit-forming drugs before taking them. Society should do something to protect the population, even if it in to prevent self-harm.

I don’t think it will happen within 30 years, but for sure, with climate change a lot of places where it was possible to get water will no longer be able to get access to it easily.

I think this is the only thing Nostr fixes. It has a lot of other issues, I feel which makes it difficult to scale. Like you can’t block anyone, just mute. It’s only the text that is distributed, media is still centralized, etc… You cant stop someone from following you. Metadata about you gets leaked to the network like who you are muting. It doesn’t work well if you use two different clients, like desktop and android.

That’s still a person against a bot. Spammers can spin up accounts automatically in Nostr with no verification.

Nostr has its own problems. Like you can’t easily defederate from spam servers in Nostr. Every person has to remove spammers, too, instead of an admin doing it.
