And it isn’t the first time they’ve done this. Disgusting.
I’m just your average Canadian wolf. I’m a siren enthusiast and railfan as my main hobbies. I run the Civil Defense Sirens Wiki, and am working on restoring a few vintage sirens (such as a FS&S Model L and a rare Sterling Siren MOD. F) as well as a 1970s Safetran mechanical crossing bell.
And it isn’t the first time they’ve done this. Disgusting.
Don’t twist their words. The plant, when faced with a meltdown incident, was able to shut down safely with no injuries or detrimental effects to anyone, as intended. The plant then operated safely without incident for another 4 decades.
It’s definitely a feature that’s sorely needed for the browser versions.
Boost lets you tag users so you can figure out who is consistently beint shitty. I think a few other apps also have that functionality.
That’s why I tag people who do this. It becomes much easier to figure out who is consistently being a shithead or pushing an agenda.
I don’t block them because I enjoy seeing them twist themselves into knots trying to ignore how FPTP works and digging deep holes for themselves when called out. The mental gymnastics are Olympic-level.
The people who constantly post about Gaza in every single thread are the worst in this regard. While yes, the genocide isn’t okay and it should be discussed, there’s a time and place and it doesn’t need to be brought up everywhere in every discussion. Many of them are needlessly hostile when this is brought up to them and you just get labeled a genocide supporter. Sometimes I just want to scroll and read threads without hearing about children dying all the time. Gaza is their entire personality and it seems like nothing else matters to them in their lives.
I usually tag problematic users (usually those who constantly discuss in bad faith, are needlessly hostile or rude towards other users, or push dis/misinformation and propaganda) so I know who are repeat offenders with consistent bad behaviour, but I rarely block people unless it’s very clear that they have no interest in participating in good faith or are so irritating that I can’t deal with them anymore. A lot of problematic users still have valuable things to say and I’d rather not make my feed an echo chamber, even if those people often piss me off with their nonsense. But with some of them it sure is tempting.
It really shows that feeling morally superior is more importantly to them than actually getting results. Harris has some genocide, so let’s help Donald “Finish the Job” Trump win and have lots of genocide. My protest vote sure helped the Palestinians!
I personally care because most of my family is American and because Canadian politics often echo what’s going on in the U.S. Pierre Polievre wouldn’t be seeing as much success if he didn’t have Trump’s culture war nonsense to use as inspiration. A lot of people outside of America still care very much about U.S. politics because it does have an effect on global affairs.
Because the policies those people put into effect have very real consequences for citizens. Especially when one candidate is openly hostile towards significant marginalized groups in society and wishes to bring them harm. This isn’t a team sport. This is a struggle for survival for many who stand to lose a lot of rights and freedoms for simply being who they were born as.
So yes, we should care who wins. Those two people are your options. Third party is not.
Sure, but you’re going to hurt yourself a whole lot more and have a fucked up wall doing so. Not an ideal way of doing it.
Yet we still always have the Liberals or the Conservatives in power… the power always ends up consolidated anyway, at least here in Canada.
No headphone jack, and having to deal with Samsung’s bullshit. This will be my last phone from them.
I’ve always had the cases break before the phone did. They work very well and haven’t let me down.
What would Brian Boitano do?
If they are a real person, then their existence is just plain sad. Spending that much time arguing online achieving absolutely nothing at all besides making everybody dislike them and causing harm to others.
Linkerbaan isn’t a rational person, nor participating in good faith. Their entire existence is arguing with people online and accusing people of loving genocide.
They appear to be from the Netherlands, or a similar European country. TrickDacy pointed out their time zones of activity aren’t based in the US, and the name Linkerbaan stems from Dutch.
Which begs the question, why do they care so much about bashing politicians in a country across the ocean, and why only ever Biden/Harris in particular? Linkerbaan, to this day, never answers why he doesn’t ever attack Trump for being even worse than Biden or Harris ever would be for Gaza. It’s almost like he doesn’t really care about what’s good for the people of Gaza, and just wants to push an agenda.
inb4 I get called an evil genocidal Zionist maniac, because Linkerbaan always does this when called out or someone disagrees with him: I fully support Gaza and the Palestinians, and absolutely despise the Israeli government and Hamas. Nothing about the Gaza situation is remotely acceptable and the Biden administration should do better. However, refusing to admit Donald “Finish the Job” Trump isn’t the worse option is ignorant at best and actively harmful for the Palestinians at worst.

A song about the infamous East of Adelaide area of London, Ontario which is notoriously run-down compared to the rest of the city. A lot of the things mentioned in the song will sound very familiar to others who have lived in similar trashy neighbourhoods. The song became popular enough in London that one of London’s former mayors, Joe Fantana, played the song with the band on the drums.
