I agree with the article. Why cater games towards a crowd that doesnt want the game. Just stop it. Fuck EA and fuck companies like Activision/blizzard for dumbing down RPGs so Normie’s might like them. You’re ruining the experience for people who want to an RPG and making it “tolerable” for people who dont. The end result will always be a mixed bag, a mixed bag of shit.

Just let them play call of duty or FIFA and let the people who enjoy RPGs play RPGs with good story and RPG elements. You’re not doing anyone a favor by making an unenjoyable mediocre bag of shit.

So I’m not saying RTO is worse than AI or vice versa. But do you have any data to back up that statement. I’ve been seeing nothing but news about AI data centers being an absolute nightmare for the planet. And even more so when corrupt politicians let then be built in places that already have trouble with maintaining normal water levels.

Same here. Lemmy is kinda like reddit when it wasn’t shit. Mastodon is just really awkward to use.

I kinda like Sharkey as well but the federation doesn’t work with Lemmy.

Like mandatory online for single player games and removing local play capability for every multiplayer game.

A lot of manufacturers cheap out on the implementation, especially the budget brands from Lidl and Aldi which sometimes leads to the cap not being able to stay on anymore (the milk cartons are especially notorious, they literally break off by just opening them).

So I do get why people get annoyed by it. I also understand that helping the environment is more important so I’m not throwing a hissyfit about it and just tear em off out of spite (I leave them on). But people are still allowed to be annoyed and have an opinion about it.

Most NAS (network attached storage device) have cloud capabilities. Its kinda like one drive only you host it yourself. Synology has Drive for example and even has apps for android and iOS.

You can just save anything to it. A keepass file I just an encrypted database file. If you save it on a NAS then you can access it anywhere.

Obviously you can also use One drive or google drive (or whatever its called nowadays). But I don’t trust Microsoft or Google with my data.

Seeing how this post has 600 replies and I see a lot of activity in the past 6 months I feel Lemmy is doing pretty well as a reddit alternative.

I certainly don’t miss the amount of shitposting that reddit had. Literally every first post was some dumb joke that didn’t even made me chuckle…

And the loyal customers don’t care else they would have switched to a deck ages ago (like I did).

Also it doesn’t help most celebrities moved to bluesky as well. Then there is the fact you have to choose an instance on lemmy which scares most people away.

Like okay, maybe if you only watch memes and cat pictures I can kinda understand. But every single sub I’ve been in had an idiotic amount of gatekeeping. Just mentioning grapheneos in some subs could get you banned. Just mentioning luigi mangione could get you banned. Oh your post is falsely flagged as inappropriate? Banned, and good luck trying to appeal.

It’s become an absolute dystopian shithole. Lemmy isn’t perfect but at least if the host of your instance goes insane you can leave for another. And if you don’t like what you see you can choose to block it.

I still don’t get why people are moving to yet another centralised platform (bluesky is not truly decentralized).

No matter how much someone agrees or disagrees with the lemmy devs, the platform is decentralized and they can’t really enshittify it.

The last two seasons completely destroyed the show for me. I literally felt betrayed and have no intention of ever watching it again.
