That’s the one strength the US has ever had, immigration. So many inventions and industries exist because of immigrants. Most times it was in the face of rampant descrimination, segregation, violence, and attempts to shut them down or take it from them. It was the only part of the civic religion they indoctrinated us with as children that wasn’t complete bullshit.

There’s no way it dethrones the hilux, which is dependable, cheap, readily available, and well proven offroad, in combat. Frankly this reads like some backroom “advertising” deal with the Trump administration to con people into changing their minds about or, more likely, to drum up interest among nonstate actors so Tesla can make bulk sales to offload the current stock. “Ooh, the largest airforce in the world is concerned about this commercially available vehicle made out of glue and sheet aluminum with a built in explosive pack just waiting for a detonator!” Product costs money to hold and they’re in the hole bad.

That is interesting. I bet it was a legitimate attack, but the government’s attempt to cover up their embarrassment (particularly the fleeing “guard”) has muddied the water, as any cover-up will do. I must have missed that one at the time.

I’m honestly surprised we haven’t seen an assassination by drone from a nonstate actor yet. It’s cheap, would subvert many of the protections aimed at stopping shooters, and security likely wouldn’t react in time or have the equipment to effectively stop it.

Some places like diners and cafes do and you pay there with a cashier. But most bars and sit down restaurants have it inaccessible. As to why, I couldn’t say for sure, but I imagine it is to prevent theft of cash.

Sure, but you need to pay, and if all you have is a card, they’re not going to let you into an employee area because you’re being weird about a very basic interaction. In fact, that’s even more reason to not allow you into an employee area for their safety. When you’re in another country, you have to go with their flow, regardless of what you do at home.

Where are people getting this idea that there will ever be any type of trails for this? I’ve even seen some talking about the Hague, which is particularly laughable because the US has an invasion policy specifically regarding the Hague, predating Trump.
