I think the issue, in terms of its effects on the election, is largely a trivial matter that’s been blown way out of proportion, largely by AIPAC itself. I just don’t think there’s a very large population that cares about Palestinian issues that wouldn’t also vote vote for the optimal outcome for Gaza. Are there some? Sure. But I’m incredibly suspicious of anyone pushing the narrative that this had a substantial effect on the election. We’re talking about people educated enough on world affairs to care passionately about the plight of a small population on the other side of the planet, but also ignorant enough to go and vote for Donald Trump? How many people do you think actually meet both of those qualifications? It’s a tiny rounding error.

It seems like a disinformation campaign by AIPAC intended to sour the public on the rights of Gazans. The people who care about Gaza are primarily on the left side of the political spectrum. What better way to alienate the American left to the plight of the Gazans than to convince people on the left that the Gaza issue cost Kamala the election? The whole thing absolutely wreaks of an Israeli propaganda campaign.

If it’s not an AIPAC campaign, it’s largely just a self-serving story on the part of white voters. Trump won because white people voted overwhelmingly in favor of him. Even the concentration of Muslims in Michigan is completely irrelevant, as Trump would have won without winning Michigan. If it’s not an Israeli intelligence operation, blaming Kamala’s loss on Palestinians is ultimately just subtly veiled racism.

The numbers bear this out. Muslim voters voted for Kamala 46% to 43%. White voters voted for Trump 56% to 40%. Muslims voted for Harris at far higher rates than white people did.

Blaming Arabs and Muslims for Harris’s loss is just a way of scapegoating a racial and religious minority group. Trump won because white people overwhelmingly voted for him. Everything else is a rounding error. It’s just plain old racism, nothing more.

Honestly, at this point I’m convinced that it’s AIPAC that is still spreading the meme that disillusioned Palestinians and their supporters cost Kamala the election. The really pro Palestine leftists are the type to either never participate in electoral politics anyway, or were strategic enough to vote for Kamala. Trump won because white middle America voted for him, not due to a handful of student protesters. I think AIPAC is still pushing the “Palestine protesters lost Kamala the race” as a means of making the Palestinian cause more unpopular. And frankly, it’s working. Any story on Gaza will have people gleefully celebrating it

I think it’s simply due to stress. Most people care about people other than themselves. They worry about the effect of their actions on others. They worry about not living up to their potential. They worry about letting people they care about down. Narcissists by contrast get to live blissfully ignorant low stress lives. Look at Trump. That bastard has not a care in the world. In his mind, he’s already perfect. Notice how the presidency tends to rapidly age people, but it didn’t seem to affect Trump? This is why.

That’s 186 mph. In the US, the highest posted speed limit anywhere is 85 mph, on some stretches of highway in remote rural Texas. So you’re looking at more than 2x the speed limit of the highest posted speed limit in the country. A lot of cars come preprogrammed with some speed governor in them. They usually top out at an already absurd speed of 125-155 mph.

Intellectual property is a lie. Pure propaganda. You can own physical things. You can’t own concepts.

Public domain is the default natural state of humanity. Copyrights, trademarks, and patents have only existed for a few centuries. For most of history, you could copy any song, work, or invention you wanted. Hell, for most of history, you claiming ownership of an idea would have been downright sacrilegious. God/The Gods/The Muses were the ones responsible for creative works; human creators were just the channelers of that divine will. In the Medieval era and earlier, artists didn’t even sign their works.

Again. This is the natural state of humanity. We naturally have the freedom to build and create whatever we want from whatever inspiration we want, including copying others. That is after all how humans learn anything. Everything you have ever done, every behavior more complex than simple biological functions is something you learned how to do. Someone figured out how to make even the most rudimentary objects in your life. No one patented the first bowl. Someone just figured it out and everyone copied from there. This is the natural state of human beings. Knowledge is meant to be shared.

At some point however we decided that in order to facilitate the arts, science, and invention, providing a limited time restriction on people’s rights was justified. We temporarily take away some of everyone’s freedom to creatively express themselves. In exchange, we encourage authors, inventors, songwriters, etc. to create high quality original works.

Over time, this purpose has been lost and the fundamental nature of the arrangement forgotten. Rights holders started spreading propaganda, using the term “intellectual property.” You are a victim of this propaganda. As if the ability to restrict the creativity of others is a natural right like the freedom of speech. Copyrights, trademarks, and patents are not rights. They are PRIVILEGES. They are a practical arrangement. To encourage you to create a thing, we restrict everyone else’s freedom to use that thing for some period of time. But it’s just a practical arrangement. It’s not something you’re entitled to as a creator by natural right.

Of course, the balance here has now all been thrown out of whack by corporations buying laws. Originally the term for copyright was just 7 years, renewable to 14. After that the temporary restriction on everyone’s freedom ended. That was still long enough for creatives to make a living off of their work. But now it’s been extended bit by bit, everyone’s freedom restricted more and more, longer and longer. Now copyrights take everyone’s rights away for generations.

There is a reason respect for copyrights is at an all time low.
