The “be on the street to greet her as her Uber arrives” is a giant red flag by itself. It’s about her controlling you. You should run, believe me.

Oh I have. And I have never gotten a notification. 😒
I’d love a dream router … if they were ever in stock. Instead they all end on eBay for $100 more than retail. Wonder why that is? (Fucking scalpers)
Thank you. That title made my brain hurt.
English is weird but this is right. It might read better if it was “and then later they found out he had been disgraced and forced to quit as police chief.”
If it were me I’d design and 3D print something to mount around it that would be held together with either rubber bands or possible screwed together. But I realize that is outside of most people’s skillset. Maybe you could get somebody to design something and get it printed online. But I guarantee it would take a couple of iterations and probably cost upwards of a $100.
Maybe something like this…
It was a cool visual but I have to admit it felt wrong destroying all of the stuff for a cool visual. The iPad will never replace real world experiences. It can help produce art and music but real world objects can never be replaced by digital replicated ones. Using real paint, playing a real instrument, or playing an original arcade game is just not the same on an iPad. I love technology but certain thing can just not be replicated.

The first iPhone didn’t even have third party apps. I’m not saying the Vision Pro will make it but even the iPhone had its issues to begin with. I’d like it to succeed because I think it has potential. It is super expensive but hopefully that will get better. But you’re right the iPhone got way more expensive. Although I suspect the first iPhones were highly subsidized to begin with and I doubt the Visio Pro is.
Well true but I was assuming the circuits had some things drawing a little power. Flipping on a device and tripping a breaker with 12 machines on it wouldn’t be ideal :)
I have done this before in my upstairs home lab. 3 beefy ESXi machines, some nas storage, and a basic 10gbe switch eats up a lot of a single 15amp circuit. And apparently turning on a TV pushes it over the edge. Luckily the UPS saved my but while a reset the breaker and shut some stuff off.
This is only about 21 amps. Most outlets in a home are 15amps but 20amps isn’t unheard of. From one outlet doubtful but yes one house would provide that much power easily if you split them up to three or 4 rooms on different breakers.
Now it would be fun to watch his electric meter spin like a saw blade … (yes I’m old … I remember meters that had spinning discs)
HungerGamesOS. I love this idea!!!
When they started staying after school for functions like choir or sports and I wanted them to have a way to tell me they were done. It was for their safety but also for my own selfish reasons. Win win.
I’m just waiting on this so work will buy me one. Hurry up Tim Apple.
What I’d really like is something more akin to google drive streaming. Let me see all the files in the file system but only go get them if I try to open it. I don’t have room for all 2TB of files on my laptop but I don’t want to constantly go click on which folders to sync either.
I am going really old internet here but the sense of adventure. I had something called the Internet Yellow Pages because search engines didn’t really exist yet. And going to these sites using ftp, Archie, gopher, etc., you never knew what you were going to find.
Pfsense and opnsense are also very good for this.
Been in this area for almost 35 years. Had to move further south (Johnston Co… like 30 min from downtown Raleigh) to find a house we could afford. Lived in Cary in a townhouse that more than doubled in rent in 10 years.
Can confirm there are quite a few IT jobs. Been in IT since mid 90s.
All in all would recommend this area.
At some point I’d believe their head would explode. I mean they wouldn’t even understand electricity. That wasn’t until about 50 years later.
