We’ll be the judge of that. What did you do?

We’ll be the judge of that. What did you do?

And if not, I sincerely hope that a cheeseburger takes me out before any of that.

When I was 18/19 in college, I met a guy through my brother’s work that was in his mid 40’s. We hung out with him and his girlfriend a lot and he was pretty good friends with my brother. He even met my mom and family, helped her with some construction projects she needed done (dad died when I was 15, so she didn’t have that extra help), and was invited to her wedding to my step dad.
Now we knew that this guy was an ex-con (the restaurant my brother worked at hired a lot of ex-cons), but we never really judged or pried into what happened. Honestly, this guy was always just chill, giving, funny, helpful, and respectful. I never got creeped out by him, and i never felt like he was inappropriate with me. We found out through a mutual friend later that this guy used to get paid to bleach the bodies of girls/women that had been raped and killed by others. To this mutual friend’s knowledge, our friend hadn’t actually done any raping/killing, but I was really struggling to feel much comfort in the fact that he “only” helped guys get away with it. Especially because I was a young, petite college girl at the time.
Anyways, I dont directly know of anybody ive met that has killed someone, but the fact that I know of somebody that did this horrible thing makes me think that you’re correct.

I feel like I’m “not allowed” either.
I grew up in a very religious household/extended family. When I was 19, I became agnostic. But I actually really enjoy the Christmas season and decorations. It doesn’t have a religious tie to me, but it has a nostalgic tie to me.
My husband is VERY jaded/exhausted/raged by Christianity as a whole. Their very existence pisses him off. So naturally, Christmas pisses him off.
But in a fantasy world where we could all get past this bullshit – I’d honestly be happy with either. I grew up with artificial trees, but real trees always seemed better. But killing trees to be a decoration in your home for a month seems wrong…
Final answer- artificial tree would be my choice if I decorated.

I very much echo what others are saying in this thread, but I also see some use cases for it. It can be a more efficient “research” tool, but the tradeoff is not being able to have confidence in the results. I rarely use “AI”, but when i do, I always double-check the results. So its basically a net zero on efficiency.
Then there’s the privacy issue. Nothing you ask it or reveal to it is private. Not that regular search engines are super private - but “AI” is designed to make people talk more.
I saw my husband (who is a somewhat-regular user) ask it a question the other day, and I was really weirded and grossed out how he asked it a question like he was asking a real person a question. He noted that this format was the best way to get an answer, but like… no.

YEE HAW

It costs money to get a piece of paper from old, decrepit, incompetent assholes who once got pieces of paper from older, decrepiter, incompetenter assholes.
There’s a motivational-poster-level quote in here somewhere.

I agree, but that’s not the question.
As a woman, I’m genuinely curious on men’s opinions about this.

I’m currently where you were a year ago. This gave me hope - thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work man, that shit has got to be hard.

Difference of practice vs insanity is directly related to something within your control vs outside of your control.

My dad was 47 and my mom was 32 when they had me. Although he was a fantastic dad, my dad didnt have the same energy as all of my friends’ dads, and that was always obvious. He really only was able to bike ride with us until I was maybe like 8 or 9.
My dad had some health complications when I was a teenager, and he died when he was 61 and I was 15. Really messed me up for awhile. Of course I miss him and wish he hadn’t gone when he did, but when I think about it, I realize that he’d be 78 if he was still been alive today. Not sure that I would be able to handle caring for my aging dad at 31, considering how overwhelmed I currently am with my life.
It’s certainly doable, but I don’t think its a great idea - especially if youre kinda indifferent about it and your husband is leaning no.

Just gonna start out by saying I’m a woman.
I appreciate the premise of what you’re saying, but the unfortunate reality is that people often aren’t trust worthy and there are people that would lie about something as serious as SA.
Our justice system is broken in many ways, but I don’t think this is one of them. It makes sense that we should have to prove any claims we make against somebody else - especially if that claim can ruin their life.

Tacos (really good ones like a proper al pastor or birria) and a strong frozen margarita.

Normally, I’d answer my husband. But today, I’ll say Skyrim. I picked it up again after multiple years, and I have loved and played this game since its release in 2011.
Talk all the shit you want, this is one of my favorite nostalgic kicks.
As a half Mexican who grew up with my Mexican family, spent a lot of time in Mexico, and has celiac disease (meaning I cant eat flour), I actually disagree. It makes me sad that I cant eat flour tortillas anymore - especially because my grandma’s home made flour tortillas were the fucking bomb.
That being said, street tacos only belong on corn.
