I think I joined the Mastodon instance and when I wanted to join Lemmy, I just picked the same domain. Never used Mastodon, though. I realized that this whole “microblogging” is not for me.

2·2 months agoHere it’s only theft if you intend to keep it. Just borrowing without permission, as in this case, is not theft.

12·2 months agoWhat’s the definition of theft in Canada? Here it requires intent to keep the object, which I don’t think is given in case of a spontaneous joy ride where the person returned the bus.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do people blame the government but not themselves?English
20·2 months agoBecause a single person has very little influence. And people do blame people. But it’s always other people’s fault.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your internet White-Whale?English
5·3 months agoNot really internet. I remember a video I saw when I was a kid, like 6-7 years old. It must’ve run alongside Sesame Street or something, because that was the only stuff I was allowed to watch back then. It was some sort of PSA about wearing a seat belt. A father, who was also an actor on the German Sesame Street, was picking up his young daughter, she sat in the backseat. She wanted to show him what she learned playing the recorder and played a bit for him. He had to break, looked back and saw the flute sticking out his daughter’s mouth. That fucking thing sticks with me to this day. Must’ve been early 80s on German TV. I have no hope of ever being able to traumatize others with that shit, but I wish I could just so I can talk about it.

5·5 months agoI wish. I lost my 1TB drive of somewhat sorted MP3s and it took all the energy of collecting music with it. I’ve been using Spotify since then. But I still miss that drive.

42·6 months agoIf you have the right by law to return something, they must not charge a fee. That cost needs to be included in the original price. If the return policy is optional, then they can charge something. And you can decide to never buy anything from them ever again. And trash that store on social media for its hostile policy.

6·6 months agoModerate. Most of the year should be spring or fall, with a few really cold days in winter and very few hot days (28C max) in the summer.
There was an ONN (or Onn.) box for which there are guides on how to root it, which I think is this Walmart box. You might be able to find it from a source in your country.
