  • Even without all this DNS thing, you can always reach your own IP from outside. The issue becomes a security issue. You will need to route your PC’s specific Navidrome port. You can use any port you like, but you’ll need it exposed thru. So that opens your system up for attacks from outside. With the cloudflare thing you can safely access your computer from outside without opening ports.

However you can sort of do this too by adding a couple more pod apps and using a dynamic DNS service. Portainer or cockpit, Pihole, and Ngnix Proxy Manager.

With portainer or cockpit you can organize the pods so they start-up automatically for example. Using your router, split your network into two separate ones … One for yourself and another for your exposed stuff. Then use the pihole to protect them. Next set-up Ngnix proxy to route to different ports. If you get to my music.com, then it will route the name to a port. Without DNS you can also just route from your outside IP to a local host name. For example 56.45.35.76:657/music could route to NABODROME the local host name or simply to 192.168.7.12. there’s a ton of tutorials on how to set these up on YouTube so go have fun. You might choose not to get into all this because it’s a little complex. But you could, like many of us, really like it, and then you enjoy a little freedom.

  • Navidrome server. Use podman. Buy a Fully qualified Internet address first, then go to cloudflare and proxy your IP to the new. Address. Finally in android install Ultrasonic or Subsonic and go to your server.

You don’t need to have a Fully qualified Internet address. But I like it better than having to remember 55.655.67.533. but the IP address still works fine. The thing about the cloudflare proxy is that it never reveals your IP. So in case someone might be snooping around, they gotta get past cloudflare first.

  • It’s not like they hide and launch. As much as I would like to not have Musk as the CEO, the company itself is great despite Musk, so overall a win. Musk is just the idiot they need at the top. Others might be too risk adverse and just create NASA 2.0. We all know NASA sucks at flying anything.

In my opinion Space X is a great company and its engineers, just like Tesla, is what keeps them innovative rather than the racist idiot riding on their shoulders… example Boeing. The engineers made great planes, the business assholes made great money. So if we can keep the idiot at the top making risky crazy promises and funneling money into the company, then the engineers will have great ideas to demonstrate and all the technicians and office workers and cleaning crew, all of them will have a job. Putting money into Tesla is basically pumping the economy. The results is currently a constellation of temporary Internet satellites. That’s at least something.

  • I learned after being told countless times that failure is the only way to learn new things. I’ve found myself at the dark corner of life many times and I still do. I have a family and I love my kids but my wife has a hate relationship with me. At work I have to prove myself at every moment like I owe someone something. And I drive a small car so everyone feels the need to cut me off to feel better. But you know, there’s a place where you are king. Your imagination. I’m really artistic and creative due to constantly failing and always coming up with new things ala ADHD. I’m haunted by my father’s accusations about my expertise in starting things and never finishing them. Anyway, I keep myself entertained no matter what situation. I love observing people and taking photos and learning. Maybe go inside you and find what you like or find something you can win at. Visiting goodwill stores is very interesting for me for example. You can find all sorts of interesting things there. Or maybe nature could be interesting to you. I love love looking at things under the microscope at work for example. That stuff is like a good mine.

  • Sure! I can find agreement between AI language models and actual users of lemmy decentralized communication systems with your last two points…

To find agreement with your last two points, AI language models would need to agree with both of your last two points.

First, AI language models would have to agree with your first point.

Next, AI language models would have to agree with your second and last point.

In summary you would need AI language models to agree independently to each of your two different points so that it can agree to both.
