  • Yeah, that makes sense. I’ve had some runs like that on games that were great but just aren’t ever coming back, like PSO and even Half-Life DM or Quake. I agree the monetization is extreme.

I was trying to play with my friend from elementary school, who I had reconnected with after several years. Him, plus a couple of his friends who i sort of know from years ago too. Destiny is his favorite game and he’s been at it for 12 years straight, which is cool, because he knows everything and I could learn from him, but the other two were fairly new, and I was brand new, which unfortunately falls into his tendency to want to be the cool guy who knows everything and tells everyone what to do. Also, we couldn’t play ANY other game, just Destiny 2 for 4 hours a night. Also, I have a bad habit of getting overly drunk around that time. So, it didn’t quite work out. Might still talk to him in the future and might still play Destiny 2 sometime (sorry if that was overly personal ha).

  • It’s fairly easy to infer that Fox would not give a sympathetic or neutral interview to someone with views that the hosts fundamentally disagree with. The mod was unprepared, had poor lighting - which surely Fox could have asked them to fix before the show - started rocking back and forth, but they also have a lot of subtle ways of manipulating the audience. If you watch their other shows, the hosts use facial expressions and negative tones of voice to express what they want viewers to feel about the topic - look like they’re having an orgasm when they mention Trump, scowl and use a derisive tone for Democratic politicians. Some of that was going on with Waters’ smug smirk, but I think he detected quickly that the mod was an easy target and he didn’t have to do much for the intended effect. For some reason the interview drifted to the interviewee’s personal life vs. antiwork, too, and that’s intentional imo.

  • Swallowing requires coordination of a lot of different muscles. Do you mean that you can’t get the swallowing process to start or that you swallow and food doesn’t go down all the way?

I had a lot of problems with the latter when I was sick with undiagnosed celiac and later developing type 1 diabetes. I’d swallow fine, but it would feel like the food was stuck in my sternum and it was very miserable. They couldn’t find anything physically wrong with my esophagus at the time. My interpretation was the esophagus was inflamed from acid reflux and thus narrowed.

  • My father has been using computers for 50 years and hasn’t seemed to really learn anything. His work had one of the first personal conouters, an Altair, and we had C64s and early DOS machines when I was a kid. He could do excel, word, general word processing, had spreadsheets back in the early days of Lotus… at this point he gets confused and frustrated by like, the CVS website. Doesn’t ask for help though, just keeps doing his knows what and getting angry about it, then when I try to help (like, “oh, your credit card number is entered wrong”) he just gets angry and says “this is a SIMPLE THING! I DONT NEED HELP!” Like, okay, you’ve been overlooking this error message on a website and acting pissed for 15 minutes, but whatever.
